I presume there is a a meeting tonight. This will be the council meeting before the elections. Cllr Tom Jones aged 85 and half has got it fixed so he will be the chairman of Penyffordd Community Council after the elections should he be voted back in.
Will Tom be the oldest councillor in Wales? Something to celebrate? I think not. A man firmly stuck in mid 20th century. You'll be alright Tom the sheep will vote you back in no problem
Will there be enough new "non Tom councillors" to stop him getting his way?
I mean little creativity, at the back of the queue for grants, spend no money except for a few mugs, no investment in sports facilities, no local health care...............

Oh I forgot. Some other Tom Jones achievments. Fastest short cut to Broughton Retail Park, Airbus and the A55. Also fine and dandy shortcut for commercial HGV traffic.
ReplyDeleteThe best laid plans eh Tom? Will he be voted back after the elections though? Change is long overdue. The Community Council is not just all about Tom, Nigel and their cronies. There are those of us who think that Tom is far too long in the tooth, well out of touch, and that this Council serves everyone except the 'Community.'
ReplyDeleteJust as there will be big changes in the County Council come May 3rd, the Community Councils will also get a shake up.
The word 'Community' means just that, for everyone not just the chosen few. None of those who are currently on the Community Council have done a fraction of what you have in the fight against speeding Colin, all respect to you.
We really need David Williams to stand for the County Council, we need men of his calibre in high office, he would make an excellent Leader this time around.
One wonders what big changes at county level you expect.
