David Hanson MP

I have just received an email ( Blackberry?)  from David following my previous missive. David says if he was in it for the money he wouldn't be working at 10pm as he is now. I think he is in the Commons for a late night vote.

There is no traffic policing in Chester Rd and I remain on the case until there is traffic calming or an occasional North Wales Police presence. Come this general election or the Welsh Assembly Elections or whatever. I fight for our environment because this where I and others in Chester Rd live.

Postscript: Why do I make disparaguing remarks. Because communication was poor. He told me it was Mark Tami's issue. Mark knows the issue but nothing is done. So one gets a little pissed off. We have an election coming up. Chester Rd needs fixing for good, Warren Bank A55 exit an environmental disaster for us.

Council Jobsworths

An email to Karen Sinclair AM over her letter in the Leader regards fatalities on the A483 at Chirk

cc First Minister, Chief Constable Mark Polin, Mark Stewart Airbus

Dear Karen,

Hope you have recovered well

I see you live in Llangollen a very nice part of North WalesAs a form of therapy I write emails to councillors, NWP, AM's, MP's and newspapers.I used to write to civil servants but most have quietly blocked me.

Cllr Ian Roberts in charge of the unaccountable NWPA has also blocked me, he should be sacked, not fit for purpose.

The email therapy is to combat stress caused by vehicles hammering through the village each day.

It used to be 2000 a day but Gordon Brown with his vast over spend of  £1 Trillion + off balance sheet and local authority pensions black hole has got rid of a few. In fact we have quite large spaces where no low life (sorry voters) fly through.

The credit crunch has its advantages. I prefer quality ( my pleasures cost little) and quietness. We'll be getting plenty of that over the next 20 years although cities may see riots.

I suppose we have to have this mass breeding of low life and uncontrolled immigration to please big business.

No good the Tories getting in then either. What a pickle.

I like small government, a small population, a bit out of vogue don't you think?

You say we need to get the Welsh Assembly and North Wales Police  to investigate the causes of the accidents. These two agencies along with HM Gov are the cause of issues. Although to be fair to Ieaun and Mark they are new to the job and can't be blamed much.

It's ironic that one of the victims is an Airbus worker. Airbus are the main cause of speeding trouble around here. Nobody does anything about it. They are just left to plough through our village and others each day and most days.

What have my village Penyffordd nr Mold. The two deaths at Sealand Rd Chester on two consecutive days ( 700 at funeral) and the recent tragedies on the A483 all have in common?

No traffic policing.

The Welsh Assembly Government, HM Gov, NWPA and North Wales Police should all be in the dock over the road deaths.

But its alright the media will let them off yet again. Perhaps the blogs need to rip it too them.

If we look at the general road situation in North Wales.

Week days. Morning rat run, no police in sight, race to work. No issues in communities with speed if the road is clear just plough through. Our CBM still in bed.

At night youth race around and sometimes kill themselves and others.

Weekends. Tourists (lowlife) Motorcycles with illegal exhausts by the 1000. You can hear the bikes doing something near 120 mph from over a mile away. Car owners racing to their caravans in Mid Wales. (and on the way back)

Extras. No policing so pushing and tailgaiting is normal. OAP's are being driven from the road by the 1000 due to racer pressure.

What about travel poverty for the old?

Local authorities allow loads of accidents to happen in the same places and do bugger all. Changing speed limits is very long winded.

What is it with Highways departments?

We have some joker ( ex Flintshire County Council Leader Alex Aldridge) who pontificates in The Leader that this can all be sorted with education and traffic calming is not necessary. I think Alex is taking this meow stuff.

We have over 25000 speeders a year. That's just Chester Rd, Penyffordd.

Our governments through their inaction from my point of view have turned any communities near main roads into race tracks. Your inaction has turned N Wales into a hole of excrement from an environmental point of view. I presume its because you need the lowlife vote.

Or do just not care about environment? What's Jane Davidson for?

So we have an unaccountable North Wales Police, Gosafe and North Wales Police.

What are we to do with these agencies who will not do what communities want?

Perhaps we will run out of money to pay for their gold plated undeserved pensions

Still its all relative. I could be in London being chased by a dozen ethnics with knives trying to kill me.

I'll watch the agencies go through the motions like they normally do. No progress made. Just give us the wages and pensions

Meanwhile David Hanson MP Minister for the Police smiles rictus grins in the media with the blue rinsers.

No idea just in it for the money.

We need a revolution...............................

kindest regards

Colin Hughes

ps You'll have to get in the queue for bypasses for the A483, Ieuan's well in front of you then its Tony Sharps' turn at Flint.

Moving up a grade to castigate ex County Council Leader

I upset Cllr David Williams over his lack of enthusiasm over an initial 2000 vehicles a day speeding through the village. Last time I asked Flintshire County Council said they had "lost" that particular piece of data. My thoughts on these crooked bastards is unprintable.

I have upset Cllr Cindy Hinds on a few occasions. It's not on purpose. It's just that speeding traffic in Chester Rd is an "off subject issue"  Cindy produced a 6 page newsletter for the village that can't even mention Chester Rd speeding. Must be because we have a village full of speeders who vote?

Anyway perhaps at the next Penyffordd Community Council things might change. ( I have thought this for three years)

Last week we had ex Flintshire County Council Council Leader Alex Aldridge saying that traffic calming was not the way forward, that education is the answer.

This is the sort of crap you can get from a politician. Sounds good but has no grounding in reality. Chester Rd and many communities has many tens of thousands that tear through villages every year.
How do you educate all of them?

At night the roads are left to the youth who are killing themselves and others. What's done, nothing.

Votes are worth more than lives.

Anyway I have a letter in the tubes to the Leader. May get published.
I tell Cllr Alex Aldridge very politely he is talking crap.

Here is Alex Aldridge on Youtube.

Alison Halford ongoing

Alison Halford accuses Cllr Arnold Woolley of keeping a journal of fellow councillor's behaviour in a bid to stop them trying to get his job as council leader.

Is it not the case that the Independent, Conservative LibDem Alliance do not want Cllr Patrick Heesom as Council Leader? A simple case of favouring Cllr Woolley over Cllr Heesom.

Quote in Daily Post.

"Councillor Heesom is understood to be applying for judicial review of the Ombudsman’s inquiry into his conduct.
He was angered that the case against Coun Halford, that included many allegations about his behaviour, was heard in public before his own case had been heard. Speaking at the tribunal held at Northop Hall Country House this week, he said: “I feel as if I’ve been tried in my absence.
“I don’t think I have any chance of a fair tribunal now.” The adjudication panel has adjourned after a legal challenge over the use of Coun Woolley’s journal."

Too many speed bumps in Pen y Cae

Not enough in Chester Rd. In fact there are none. So that element of drivers that ignore speed limits just hammer through. Having at least one platform and chicane would slow down traffic.

I feel it should be village policy to make it as awkward as possible for those who use the village as a short cut which in my opnion is over 1000 a day. It is possible using technology to measure the traffic to find out. Mind you I feel Derek Kirby of Flintshire County Council who is head of road strategy has different ideas.

Talacre Lighthouse

Talacre beach and lighthouse one of the jewels of Flintshire. The beach and sky have a magical effect when the tide is out, there are vast areas beach. The lighthouse was built on a raft of oak logs and the lighthouse is listing just like the leaning tower of Piza. Visitors are only allowed in the lighthouse one at a time. It is thought that a dozen visitors at the top of the light house on the wrong side may bring the light house down.

The building is listed I am told. The windows I feel should be restored to how they were when the lighthouse was built. The above photo has been digitally remastered in Sandtex. Lets hope its current delapidated state  is only temporary.

My experience with Flintshire County Council officers with regards a recent FOIE is one of a trail of lies and deceipt. I just suppose it depends who you are.

This is a power stuggle here. Flintshire County Council directors do not want Cllr Patrick Heesom holding any position of authority. Perhaps this enquiry is pushed by the Labour led Welsh Assembly Government against an Independent led authority.

Exploring

Today we have been exploring places that are rarely visited. This figure is a heart that has been carved by a chainsaw. There are other such sculptures in the woods.
As a child I explored fields and woods between Sandycroft and Dobshill. Trying to keep one step ahead of farmers like Newton Moore of Moor Lane. Newton could do a 400 yard sprint faster than most even in his wellies. When caught you were turfed out of his fields with a thick ear.

The Gladstone Estate a special place to roam. South of Llanfynydd is quite a good place, not many people around just sheep.

Petrol Prices what we can actually do as a to bring them down

This WILL actually work, if we all act as a group.
The price of oil is as low as it has been for a while, the oil companies have simply jacked their prices up and the government will not do anything as they rake in extra VAT for every increase.

See what you think and pass it on if you agree with it

We are hitting 120.9 a litre in some areas now, and soon we will be faced with paying 1.50 a ltr. Philip Hollsworth offered this good idea:

This makes MUCH MORE SENSE than the don't buy petrol on a certain day campaign that was going around last April or May! The oil companies just laughed at that because they knew we wouldn't continue to hurt ourselves by refusing to buy petrol. It was more of an inconvenience to us than it was a problem for them. BUT,whoever thought of this idea, has come up with a plan that can really work.

Please read it and join in!

Now that the oil companies and the OPEC nations have conditioned us to think that the cost of a litre is CHEAP, we need to take aggressive action to teach them that BUYERS control the market place not sellers. With the price of petrol going up more each day, we consumers need to take action. The only way we are going to see the price of petrol come down is if we hit someone in the pocket by not purchasing their Petrol! And we can do that WITHOUT hurting ourselves. Here's the idea:

For the rest of this year DON'T purchase ANY petrol from the two biggest oil companies (which now are one), ESSO and BP.

If they are not selling any petrol, they will be inclined to reduce their prices. If they reduce their prices, the other companies will have to follow suit. But to have an impact we need to reach literally millions of Esso and BP petrol buyers. It's really simple to do!!

Now, don't wimp out at this point... keep reading and I'll explain how simple it is to reach millions of people!!

I am sending this note to a lot of people. If each of you send it to at least ten more (30 x 10 = 300)... and those 300 send it to at least ten more (300 x 10 = 3,000) ... and so on, by the time the message reaches the sixth generation of people, we will have reached over THREE MILLION consumers! If those three million get excited and pass this on to ten friends each, then 30 million people will have been contacted! If it goes one level further, you guessed it... .

THREE HUNDRED MILLION PEOPLE!!!

Again, all You have to do is send this to 10 people. That's all.(and not buy at ESSO/BP) How long would all that take? If each of us sends this email out to ten more people within one day of receipt, all 300 MILLION people could conceivably be contacted within the next 8days!!! Acting together we can make a difference . If this makes sense to you, please pass this message on.

PLEASE HOLD OUT UNTIL THEY LOWER THEIR PRICES TO THE 90p a  LITRE   RANGE

It's easy to make this happen. Just join this group and get all your friends to join or forward as an email to everyone in your address book, and buy your petrol at Shell, Asda,Tesco, Sainsburys, Morrisons Jet etc. i.e.. boycott BP and Esso

A village full of Philistines?

I've been watching the speeding traffic again, I know I shouldn't as it winds me up. It's called having pride in where one lives. After three years of going on at Penyffordd councillors its plain my values of environment and safety for our children and residents are shared by few on the Penyffordd council. Most of them live in cul de sacs and have little sympathy for us on the main roads.

My car has been damaged because I have spoken out against speeding.

I have stated the above before. Cllr Linda Vidamour has said previously she is NOT a member of the philistine movement.

Does Penyffordd get the councillors it deserves? There are good people in the village. They appear to be in small measure though.

Losing Your Local Councillors!

You may not have needed your local Councillor yet, but there may come a time when you do, so do you think that you would get the personal assistance you need from somebody from outside the Village?

This means that your local councillor may come from Hawarden, Kinnerton or Mancot!

Perhaps Howie will have done something about the morning rat run by then. Are Penyffordd Cllrs going to mention our daily rat run and the danger it places children in?
Thursday 22nd April 2010.

Why is Psycho coming through the village?

Psycho drives a dark blue lorry he has F off tattoos and a bald head. I know he is called Psycho as it says so on the front of his lorry.
Question. Should someone with a nickname called Psycho be driving a lorry?
I've seen Psycho three times today and I'm not standing outside.

There is some local construction activity and lorries are taking a short cut through the village. Last Friday I reckon there were over a 100 lorries and buses coming through the village. Perhaps it's the new Airbus building.

Politics National and Local

I once had a conversation with Cllr Cindy Hinds in which it was agreed that national and local politics should be kept apart. This I now find to be impossible. We have a Labour Government who are soft on crime and soft on the causes on crime.

I had a poke at David Hanson MP the other day on here over the anouncement of some new initiative over accountability to ratepayers over policing.

I think there is a conspiracy between Labour politicians and North Wales Police. My MP Mark Tami knows speeding is going on. Carl Sargeant AM knows the speeding is going on yet they do bugger all.

Three years and speeding continues every work morning in Chester Rd, Penyfford. A major route to school that has been totally unpoliced.

Take yesterday. North Wales sounded like a race track with bikers racing around with illegal exhausts. We now have a Chief Constable who is also a biker. His first task was to go soft on bikers speeding.

As for my original statement. Can Cllr Cindy Hinds fight to stop a village being a race track every morning whilst I point out the party she supports have put a Trillion pound hole in our National accounts?

In fact all the statistics have been removed so the proletariat just take whatever Gosafe say as read. Perhaps for the best as councillors are not interested in the statistics. *

Dog Found

Yesterday we had little time left after the dog walk. On arrival back to the house I spied a dog walking down Penymynydd Rd in the middle on its own. Since we have dogs we cannot usually just leave a stray dog walking around the main road. So the two dogs were rushed into the house whilst we attempted to get the dog on a lead.

This was done easily but then the problems begin. We have two dogs that can be very anti social to other dogs ( and unauthorised humans). The house has three zones with rules with regards exits.
We eventually set dog up in cage in Zone 3. Our dogs are not happy but its tough.

Lisa phones the dog warden and Capricorn Animal Rescue. Dog warden comes around to scan dog for a chip. It doesn't have one.

If we hand it over its at least £50 to get dog back and it goes up by the day. After a week its put up for adoption. The dog warden says it would go easily.

So we hold onto dog as we can see its well looked after.

Lisa put a note in the Penyffordd Post Office window.

We had a phone call after tea. His name is Dillon and he lives on the caravan park. It would appear Dillon is a serial offender. Anyway one grateful owner and life returns to normal here.

An open letter to David Hanson MP with regards speeding in Chester Rd Penyffordd

cc Chief Constable Mark Polin

Dear Leader
A letter for consideration.

Open letter to David Hanson MP Minister for Police

Dear Minister,

It is now over 1000 days since The Leader  first published an article on speeding in Chester Rd, Penyffordd. Vehicles still continue to hammer through our village centre, traffic policing remains non existent. In light of the continuing tragedy to Flintshire families due to non existent road traffic policing would the minister comment on the continued lawlessness and deaths on Flintshire roads. Also the continuing unaccountable and uncommunicative North Wales Police.

Vitamins

Doing business with Nigeria

We had an order from Nigeria a couple of weeks ago for an item with a value just over £20. After much deliberation we decided to go ahead as the order came through a company we deal with. One day after Lisa posted item we get a further order for an item from the same chap this time for over £400.

Our hearts sank we had swallowed the sprat now we were being asked to take the mackrel. Nigeria if my emails are anything to go by is full of crooks. We decided we were most probably going to loose the £20 due to a charge back or for the item not arriving so we said the other item had been sold.

Yesterday we recieved an email to say the item had arrived.............
We have decided to call it quits whilst we are in the lead.

County Councillor Cindy Hinds' Spring Newsletter

The plus point. It's six pages long.
The minus points.

1. Cindy thinks Warren Bank A55 exit is more of a problem for Penymynydd roundabout which is part of the trunk road system than Chester, Wrexham and Corwen Rd which are not but will bear the brunt of the short cut merchants and speeders in the form of workers, shoppers and tourists.
2. Chester Rd is unpoliced for traffic by North Wales Police.
3. Cindy has not pressed Arrive Alive to do their job.
4. Chester Rd has a morning rat run of 300 plus which Cindy continues to ignore after 3 years.

As far as Cindy's Newsletter is concerned there are no issues on Chester Rd.

Does Cindy have no pride in the village in which she lives and represents?

Why should Chester Rd residents whose road is a major route to school put up with this insult of speeding every day?

DIY Dentistry

Don' try this at home.
Most of us have issues, one of mine is teeth and gums. Since I was 14 I have had "pink tooth brush". First memory at primary school of extraction with gas and the attendant smell of rubber still fills me with horror.

Things came to a head when I was in my late 30's and I met a creative dentist from Wrexham. He decided the best thing for me was to have a gingivectomy. So I duly turned up after having driven my car there for a good spot of gum surgery. We will not go into detail but perhaps I will see if there is a Wikipedia entry later.

I was in no fit state to drive the car home when I emerged...........

Things improved a bit but he lined me up for a second bout of gingivectomy some years later. He set up all the appointments for me including courses of antibiotics before and after.

One day before the said appointment I cancelled the lot.

My alternative treatment was brush teeth twice a day plus a daily gram of vitamin C. This managed to keep my gums and teeth deteriorating any further.

About 5 years ago I developed pleurisy after a cold. You have pre qualify for pleurisy with a cold , flu or similar. Pleurisy which is an infection of the lung lining gives pain like few other illnesses. After a day of agony I managed to see a lovely lady doctor in Buckley who took away the pain with cocodomol and the infection with antibiotics.

One of the side effects was an instant improvement in gum health which I put down to the antibiotics.

If we shoot forward to today. I still have my teeth except for one double that has broken apart. I have tried asking dentists if I can just visit the hygenist. This of course goes against their procedures to keep you hooked, they do not do it.

So currently I have no dentist. Recently I have had the double that broke up at the gum level. This filled me with horror but nature has surrounded the broken tooth with gum and it is fine for eating. I have had two fillings come out due to eating hard nuts and had just left them until the other day. Tooth ache arrived, a shooting spasm into the nerves.

Boots do a temporary dental filling kit which I find very good. (not bad for the holiday medical kit) You clean the filling hole out, dry it with a cotton bud then stuff the filling with cement  and shape with a gentle clenching of teeth. Both fillings are working fine lol and no mercury in them either.

Any flare up with gums normalises with a few grams of vitamin C.

http://mypolice.org.uk/

The above website which at the time of writing is not live will report on North Wales Police and how it performs. The Daily Post reports that NWP get a bad report for the amount of people killed or seriously injured on North Wales roads. This is not surprising as traffic policing is non existent in villages. Perhaps this is soon to change?

It is worth noting that Chief Constable Polin who is himself a motorcyclist has recently relaxed operations against the bikers racing in North Wales which led to a large decline in bikers killed on North Wales roads.

Technology

There are few photos going on here at the moment. The reason being my camera is playing up. Blurred photos and camera settings not working. This camera cost a lot of money, has never been dropped or knocked.
This may be about to change. The perceived wisdom of others on the net who have similar problems is as follows.

1. Wrap camera in soft padding and give it a large knock against something solid.
2. If the above fails throw it down the stairs...........

The above have been tried and succeeded. Camera repair? Do not even go there. Cheaper to buy a second hand one on Ebay.

Perspectives and prostates

Today a bit of a funny day, things going wrong. The news that someone I know has advanced prostate cancer that has reached his bones puts my little troubles into perspective. The medical people are talking of extra months to live (less than a year) should he subject himself to the torture of chemotherapy.
His female homone therapy has shrunk his bits to nearly the size of female's but has not stopped the cancer. Testosterone is thought to advance the disease.

The prostate's position and linkage to other body parts seems a design fault by our inventor in my opinion. Why should it have to interfere with urine flow?

One wonders what causes this little organ to malfunction.
Is it lack of or wrong nutrition, genetics, a virus or bacteria, lack of use, too much use? Most men do not even know where it is or what it does.

I know of people who would not subject themselves to Chemo. A big decision.

The motoring public want to speed

There's a GATSO on the M6 near Carlisle that's brought in £3 million over the last year. All the usual suspects trotted out to say its not fair. The mindset of the drivers who ignore speed limits is the same as those that fly through our village. They really can't give a fig.

ps. There is a GATSO on the A55 at Broughton (direction towards Angelsey) in the 50 mph road works for Warren Bank A55 exit

Bloggers excluded by Council

A council in the north of England has taken the unusual step of accrediting professional journalists to report from meetings using Twitter in a move that in effect bans local bloggers.
The decision by Tameside council means that local bloggers, members of the public and even their own councillors are not permitted to tweet because they are not members of the press as defined in law by the Local Government Act of 1972.

To The Glasfryn Mold

for some tea. During the meal I look across to see someone who looks remarkably like Mark Tami MP.

It is, for it is he, with wifey and son Max.

On his way out I stop him to introduce myself as the person who has sent him 200 emails
over the last three years. Mark has sent various letters to NWP, Gosafe, etc on my behalf.

I mention that we had seen him at Plas Teg on the telly in the week. It would appear I am way past the first to mention this.

Had a talk about speeding traffic lol.

And The Glasfryn...........
Nice inside, very spacious, seating for 150+?
Good outlook.
Good varied menu, caters for vegetarians
Personable staff
Good ambiance
Haddock and Chips £12- good.

My thanks to Mike for the treat. May his emotional body be restored to equilibrium. The ride in his new BMW X5 rather spoiling.
Mum can I have one?

Crash at Millenium Clock update

Have had talks with one of my sources. I'm way wide of the mark. Apparently a cyclist was travelling down Hawarden Rd minding his own business when a 4x4 crossed in front of him at the Millstone. A head on took place with the cyclist trying to enter the 4x4 through the windscreen which has a big hole in it.  The car driver did not see the cyclist. The cyclist has a broken shoulder and was taken to hospital.

A lot to be said for cyclists wearing fluorescents and drivers paying attention.

Chester Rd Traffic Education

I understand that Howie and Hugh ( our CBM and Safety Officer resp) have been out in Chester Rd this week. Educating the travelling public.

This is most welcome.

It would be most interesting to see traffic volumes and speeds for 2007 and 2010. The credit crunch I feel has made a big change to driving through Chester Rd, Penyffordd.

Crash at Millenium Clock

About 1.30 pm.
Looks like it was between a tractor and a 4x4. No damage to the tractor but the windscreen was pushed in on the passenger side of the car. A bit shocking for those concerned. NWP were present.

Subject to confirmation -. It looked like the tractor bucket on the front went through the car windscreen.

My opinion is that tractors should do a max of 20 mph through the village. Not flat out as they usually do.

Strange Log reports

I see the Alison Halford story is attracting attention from Flintshire County Council.
Fame at last, not the sort of fame I wish for.

Also I have a computer in Moscow looking at the site. Very strange.

Blogger Cllr Alison Halford in trouble

Criticism does not go down well with Flintshire County Council directors. Whilst if I do not work or am ill I get no pay. Things are different in that non real world of county council. If you get upset you are allowed time off with pay.

The bottom line being has Alison Halford's unofficial report got legs?

Health Check on the Hoof

A hypochondriac writes.............

Last week I was offered a blood sugar test by a friend called Phil whose pancreas has stopped working. So today in Whitchurch Golf Club I had my blood sugar levels tested while the coffee and bacon sandwiches were on the way. First of all you have to supply blood. Phil has this little device that stabs your finger.

You then squeeze injured finger to get blood to appear. Phil then places a fancy digital gadget onto the blood. The blood is then analysed and outcomes a digital read out of 5.4 which Phil says is fine.

The reading should be between 5 and 7.

So we can cross off Type II diabetes from list of possible ailments I might have................

Mark Tami MP and Cllr Cindy Hinds push for lower speeds

around Penyffordd district.

1. The village centre is used as a rat run
2. The noise from Penyffordd Bypass is loud at rush hours and many other times of the day depending on wind direction.
3. Dobshill which has a 60 mph limit is like a race track and has many accidents outside the garage.

One reason why I do not allow comments here without scrutiny. It would appear my detractors do not like speeding or HGV in the village but will not do anything about it.

Since I live on Chester Rd, I see the speeding. The rat run every morning.

This afternoon, three five year olds on cycles trying to cross Chester Rd in front of a bus and two cars. It makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck.

Prime Minister tells Police "Get back on the Beat"

Since Penyffordd has no outstanding issues perhaps NWP can tackle the speeding. It's been three years.............................

Also has the side benefit of making the village safer for children and OAP's.
