New council leader will need to show ‘vision’

FUTURE leaders of the council will have to set out their “vision” and give annual update reports on how this is progressing.

Did I discuss this in the last fortnight?

This drew 197 views and 23 comments. Having a strategy for Penyffordd seemed a bridge too far for some. Problem is you don't like doing forward strategy when your over 80 !

Oh! Forgot to say the article's about Anglesey. Doh.

  2. Yes thought someone might bite. Best to have some missing than almost none at all. ( re certain nominee)

And your thoughts on Penyffordd having a coherent strategy for health, environment, through traffic, village sport, youth facilities, etc ?

The only Candidate with Vision is Colin Hughes, which is unatainable and will send the Council Tax though the roof.
Vote for Colin if you want increased Council Tax.
    You have been warned!!!!!!!!!

    4. You watch this space. Tom will still run the village after the election if he has a majority of 6.

If he has a majority of 5 which is half he has the say as chairman in the first year.

He booked himself in as chairman a year ago when he booked himself vice chairman.

To be fair to Tom you have to have experience as a chairman. Tom must have over 50 years....

  9. If 10 new candidates were voted in on Thursday, but you still have the same Chairman with an iron grip, nothing would change.
Colin probably won't get in, this little council is very much a closed shop. However, Colin does call a spade a spade and we have had our eyes opened. We can think for ourselves, make up our own minds and who knows things will may well have changed by next year.

Colin Hughes is living in dreamland if he thinks there should be an age limit to any Community Council nominee. I think that the fact he can not be bothered to get up of his backside and deliver his election address to all people of People shows his interest in the people of Penyffordd.I was thinking of voting for 3 which included Colin Hughes now down to two after seeing his attack on people over 70 and his indifference to the residents of Penyffordd by not bothering to deliver his leaflet.

    2. Costs of leaflets for me £350. 15 hours delivery time.

Cost to Joe Bell about £50, no delivery necessary.

      A level playing field not.

  10. Get a grip! Of course there should be an age limit for Community Council nominee's. There are age limits everywhere else in life.
85 is far too old to be standing for Council. He would not be allowed to stand for County elections at that age, so why Community?

    1. What a load of crap. I dont understand all of colins mates harping on bout the age thing and the fact that older members should stand down.
FFS there are 11 candidates for 10 places ?! The Penyfford youth arent eactly cueing up to be councillors are they?

  11. If you wish to get involved in public life that is the price you have to pay. I do question the cost of £350 for leaflets and 15 hours the time of delivery. There is nothing to prevent you doing your own on your p.c.
