----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1.To encourage PCC to set up an email for the community council so residents have a quick easy method to communicate with PCC.
2.To encourage PCC to have Council Minutes and Agendas online to increase council transparency.
3.To encourage PCC to adopt a strategy for the village. To include the returning of Health Care Facilities to the village which have been allowed to leave whilst cllrs have sat on their hands.
4.To fight for a local agreement where all Penyffordd councillors retire at 75.
5. To encourage the council to improve their search for grants.
6. To out councillors who use their positions for personal political gain over village benefit.
7. To press NWP to deal with matters ASBO quickly and firmly.
A recent long term ASBO issue dragged on for too long.
A family suffered unnecessarily. Many others too.
8. To fight against Penyffordd councillor oppression to freedom of thought and comment. Me being the subject of a secret meeting a symptom of the sickness in this village.
9. To allow residents to have the right to address PCC at any monthly meeting given notice.
( a David Williams idea)
10. To press for political alliances in the village to be named in election literature.
The term "Independents" is too vague a term.
Groups of cllrs should have a name such as " Tom Jones Indpendents" or " Red Lion Stroller Independents". I have approched the Electoral Reform Society over this issue.
11. To press for through traffic and HGV to use the Penyffordd Bypass. We currently have in excess of a 1000 vehicles a day who use the village as a short cut.
12. To press Penyffordd Community Cllrs to ensure proposed traffic calming in Chester Rd is carried out and to support other Penyffordd communities with traffic issues.
This may be added to.

Not sure what's happening to comments but comments on one subject are appearing in comments on another subject.
ReplyDeleteSue say elsewhere
ReplyDeletePoints 1-3 Fair enough.
Point 4 I disagree strongly as older people have experience and wisdom.
Point 5 I don't know enough about so won't comment.
Point 6 Do you mean Cindy and David? Have they used their position on the community council to get on the county council? I don't see how any other personal political gain has been made by anyone.
Point 7 Again, I don't know anything about this to comment.
Point 8 It seems that you were the subject of a secret meeting because you are such a pain in the ****
It would be nice to receive your literature the traditional way, through the letterbox, as only a very small percentage of the electorate come on your personal blog.
Point 6. I'm not pointing to anyone. Past cllrs know what happens.
ReplyDeletePoint 8. Cllrs wanted to silence me rather than look at the issue. If you think being a pain in the arse over 2000 cars a day speeding on a major route to school in the middle of a village is not worth bothering about then that's your perogative.
Point 5 . Penyffordd in recent years have not made enough effort to get grants. IMHO.
ReplyDeleteIt took the excellent CBM Ian Millington to point out that a requirement was needed to channel youth energies in a positive manner. ie. spend money on youth facilities. This had been neglected for years.
No names mentioned but cllrs over the age of 80 might have been involved.
The idea of a 'age-limit' is not only ridiculous, but possibly unconstitutional. The only law on eligibility to stand for election I know of says that you must be eligible to vote to stand. Would you also suggest that those over 75 lose the right to vote? The two have always been tied, so to state that they are not fit to represent the area surely infers that you believe they are also unfit to vote for who represents them. The council members should represent as wide a demographic as is seen in the village, and there are plenty of residents over the age of 75.
ReplyDeleteAs for point 11, while I do not doubt that there may well be an excess of 1000 vehicles passing the spot being monitored, can these figures take into account cars which pass that spot on the way to another area of the village? And if they are, would you suggest that people from the Vounog have to get on the bypass to go to Broughton? Should people from Penymyndd Road have to use the bypass to go to Wrexham, even if it means going in the wrong direction to begin with? And how on earth do you suggest that HGVs be banned from the village? I agree that HGVs block up the roads, but surely in some ways this has the effect of reducing the speed of other road users, as the traffic in the opposite direction is temporarily brought to a standstill.
I personally have the deepest of sympathies for all of the councillors named on here, and their families. In your very first post on this blog, you said that posts would not be personally insulting. This doesn't seem to have been the case of late.
I have read your leaflet on the "Blog" not impressed!
DeleteThese are the questions you shoul;d be asking!
Do the Residents of Penyffordd Community want to pay more Council Tax ,than they are already paying?
Please note your correspondent (Anon 29 April10-58) is spot on.Your propositions are completely unacceptable and unworkable.
Grow Up! You Stupid Boy!
Men and women who put themselves up for public office, should expect both praise and criticism, it goes with the territory.
ReplyDeleteSo Colin!
ReplyDeleteYou have been too lazy to put your leaflet out? That's just what we want!! A lazy know it all who know nowt!
You have also decided that you are not going to allow any critical comments to remain on the blog which you have used to try to destroy peoples reputations? Bit of an unfair advantage wouldn't you say?
You plan to have a overhaul of the CC and feel you will be able to get NWP to jump to your attention? Now who is living in cuckoo land?!
A secret meeting about you? Do you really think people have such regard for you? You only have to look at the state of your garden to see that you are a layabout! No excuses about the take away it has been there long before you were!!
I Say lets - VOTE COLIN X VOTE IDIOT X
Believe me if you get on I will attend the meeting to see just how red your face is!!!
