Somewhere Near

Plas Teg. I've been around it with the Penyffordd Wine Circle.
If you get the chance take a warm coat it's always cold.

The building was used to try people by the travelling judge.
The justice handed out for trivial stuff barbaric.
Still you have to keep the masses under control.

Something Different

I have a friend who lives in Hawarden. He was on holiday in Switzerland on a ski lift and struck up a conversation with a tall tanned crew cut American who asked him where he was from.
My mate said " Oh you won't know, I live in Hawarden in North Wales.

On the contrary he said, I know it very well. We have dog fights above
Hawarden with your boys (RAF)

He was a USA military pilot.

A Merry Christmas to All

So ! What to do.

No relatives to visit. I used to get dragged around to relative's houses by the previous model.
Hope she doesn't read here.
A look around our locale shows plenty of visiting going on.

A walk around the woods with the dogs in the rain and a quiet Christmas lunch.
It's the only day in the year I might consider a glass of wine during the day.

--------------------------------------------

Decided to forgo the wine.....
Apparently Millstone Xmas lunch is £65 a go.

Here's Penymynydd Rd's
With Xmas pud to follow.
I'm advised Irish coffee is on the menu when
everything has digested.....

Clockwise, turkey, red cabbage, glazed carrots, roast potato, sprouts and sweet chestnuts, parsnips in maple syrup.

The sprouts go down well with plenty of cranberry jelly.

A Resident Writes...............

SIR – You report (December 11) that Barclays bank has avoided any reference to the word “Christmas” in its holiday opening hours.

I have worked in the Middle East for the last 13 years, mainly in Oman. I also have a rather obvious and large white beard. When I am there in December I am eternally asked by Muslims what I am going to bring them for Christmas. The stores all have Father Christmas figures and decorated Christmas trees.

Muslim children are looking forward to their presents. Jesus Christ is their second most respected prophet (after Mohammed) and Mary, along with Jesus, features in the Koran.

Given that the Muslims celebrate Christmas in the Middle East, what right has Barclays to deprive the Muslim population here?

Penyffordd Banking

There's some new words in town they're called "Bail In's".
Posh words for banks stealing your money.
Not much change there..................

postscript: RBS are being investigated over hiding 4500 dormant accounts from customer.

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2015-12-11/bail-ins-%E2%80%9Cundermine-confidence%E2%80%9D-banks-lead-suicide-pensioner

In future when your bank goes bust ie. Northern Rock or gets in a position such as the Bank of Scotland, you as a depositor will be required to give up your hard earned cash to keep the bank or building society afloat.

The above is just talk at the moment but don't be surprised when it becomes law.
( I wrote this before reading above link)

There's also talk of NIRP's

http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-06-05/nirp-has-arrived-europe-officially-enters-monetary-twilight-zone

The basic idea that the banks and building society's will charge you to keep money in the bank as opposed to paying you interest on your deposits.

Won't bother me much as I haven't got much ready cash.

Might be a bit of a problem if you've got hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Even tens of thousands.
They also won't let you withdraw large amounts in readies.

Between a rock and a hard place?

postscript. I should also add the such sites as Zerohedge reckon world economies are going to go "mammaries up" in the near future.

More Money for Welsh NHS

Will this mean less queuing for hospital beds, queuing in A&E, waiting an hour in the doctor's surgery?

My unqualified answer would be no.

How about charging everyone a fiver for A&E and a doctor's visit?

Free prescription charges should go too.

Fighting Talk From Behind The Sofa

Postscript: The view by a Conservative MP

further

The Prime Minister's fighting talk in the Sunday Times was not needed.
Some people some where in this country will be in the wrong place at the wrong time shortly.
It won't be the PM..........

A few months ago Parliament stopped Cameron bombing Syrian troops. He's having to make do with terrorists that we trained to destabilize Syria in the first place. Funny old world!

All those MP's who voted for bombing which will kill innocent people as well, should be shipped out to the front line at Raqqa.

Fancy a ride in a helicopter? ( no bad stuff ) Real lives, real bullets, real rockets, no game.
Any follow on videos may not be pretty.

New Supermarkets for Penyffordd

As long as you have a cycle, bus route or car.

Aldi have opened their new store in Buckley. Next week they open their new store in Broughton near Tesco.

A sign of the times!

Energy Blues and a rant

So let me get this straight.

We are closing all our coal fired electricity generating stations due to the global warming scam.
We have lots of coal under UK.
China have opened 400 new ones!
And we are closing all our steel making facilities

We are relying on President Putin for our gas fired electricity generating stations.
I think as of today Russia was turning off the gas tap to Ukraine because they haven't paid the gas bill.

We are closing down Wylfa Nuclear on Anglesey. The new one won't be on stream for 10 years.
http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/angleseys-wylfa-nuclear-plant-shutdown-10535403

The National Grid are talking about not having enough electricity in the system this winter, cue black outs.

We have our D - heads in Parliament arguing the to*ss over illegally bombing Syria killing innocent people.
Syria has not asked for our help. Assad got more votes in Syria than Cameron at the last elections here.
I see Syria, Iraq and Libya have all asked for Russian help

You do wonder whether we should be paying them ( our MP's) in peanuts.

I see Mark Tami our MP is not moved by our Prime Minister's arguments, good for him.
The 75000 soldiers on the ground fighting Assad and Isi*l some sort of myth in my opinion.
