Colin Bithell commenting in fairy dust in The Leader.
http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/112110/flintshire-cement-factory-report-does-not-tell-full-story-.aspx
Fact: Colin Bithell decided that 2000 speeding cars in Chester Rd in 2007 was not of interest.
Colin Bithell has no interest in child safety in Chester Rd. He's more concerned with parked cars in his cul de sac ( that's in the minutes)
If your going to comment can you use some council minute or something to support your argument.
Penyffordd Community Council will of course punish me for my intransigence. Traffic calming for Chester Rd will be cancelled. Just you watch. There's people commenting on here who live in cloud cuckoo land.
I wonder if any Labour supporters in the village think Tom Jones and Colin Bithell such outstanding people.
Politics happen in Penyffordd.
There is a lot of naivety on here at the moment.

Cuckoo!
ReplyDeleteThey must be due any time now !
ReplyDeleteI was not totally surprised to read that Cllr. Colin Bithell had commented on the cement works, he does that when there is an election on the horizon.
ReplyDeleteAs I recall, it was David Williams who was genuinely concerned with the emissions from the Cement Factory and he does more than posture around County Hall.
Your attack and abuse of Cllr Colin Bithell is shamefull, Have you no Mercy? Cllr Colin Bithell is making a splendid recovery following major surgery and only recently suffered the grevious loss of his dear wife, and you deliver your low punches, which can not be supported by facts.
DeleteFor your information and for the benefit of those who read your blog, I can assure you that neither Cllr Colin Bithell or Cllr Tom Jones are Freemasons and both are motivated by the pure wish to serve their Community to the best of their ability. In the case of Cllr bithell he has consistantly campaigned to improve the emmissions from the Cement factory, and it was as a result of his continual pressure that the Welsh Government set up the Inquiry, anyone with inside knowledge would confirm that. I will always support these two men, who unlike you are concerned about the other issues in Penyffordd Community area besides just Chester Road and a grant to a drinking club out of Public Funds. Cllr bithell has a distinguished record having represented Broughton for many years on Alyn and Deeside District Council and also having stood for Parliament in Crewe as a Liberal candidate albeit without success but polling very high, such is the measure of the man. We are fortunate to have him in Penyffordd, he is an excellent Councillor. I shall vote both for him and Cllr Tom Jones.
You raise very important points. Colin Bithell's last 4 years have been truly awful since the election count in 2008.
DeleteI think it highly unwise that he is standing as a county cllr with so much recent grief.
It would be fair to say Colin is Tom's man. Tom would prefer to be lying in Penyffordd Cemetry rather than give Cindy Hinds ( Labour) a free seat at the county table. I repeat Colin should not be standing, he is liable to further grief which for a man with such tragedy is highly unfair.
Re drinking club. Why did cllrs vote for the Red Lion Strollers. A football drinking pub.
I think your comment fair. I live one mile down wind of Hanson Cement. Previously my car windscreen was thick with cement, now it is crystal clear with the new works investment, Welsh and Flintshire Environment Agency involvement. Penyffordd Cllrs have also been involved in the process. The result the best we can get. We just need to get more data on very small particulates and ways of reducing the further.
ReplyDeleteIf you go to a Penyffordd Council meeting when Hanson Cement is on the agenda you will see Colin Bithel work himself up into a lathered frenzy , going extremely red in the face. I think this more of a health hazard to Colin than the cement dust which stopped over two years ago.
Hanson Cement have full sized football pitches for Penyffordd adult teams. They contibute to various groups through out the village.
ReplyDeleteTheir lorries and that of their contractors are not allowed in Penyffordd village
I agree that Cllr. Bithell has endured ill health and more recently grief after the sad loss of his wife.
ReplyDeleteHowever, Cllr's are there to serve the people they represent not their own agendas.
In FCC during this last year we have seen Cllr's use their office to serve themselves, to score points, bring down colleagues and in doing so, they have dragged this Council and the County on disrepute. This Council that has become synonymous with in house fighting and back stabbing, fast following in the footsteps of Anglesey CC. And where is Carl Sargent when you need him.
Services are not what they should be. Major issues on Schools and Housing Stock Transfer were handled badly. The Waste and Re cycling service could have been better run by a third world country.
£10,000 for I Pads for Cllr's, could repair a lot of potholes with that kind of money.
The Ombudsman has practically made Flintshire his second home and the Cllr. Heesom hearings drag on and on costing us, the Taxpayer millions, while our Community charge goes up another 3%, thanks for that Patrick and Alison!
We are tired of apathy and poor performance. A few well known names will undoubtedly disappear into the ether after May 3rd, and rightly so because the people will decide.
The message is clear be it on Community or County level. We want Cllr's who will put aside their own agendas and their egos, knuckle down and put the people of Flintshire and their needs first.
