A crash in Penyffordd?

My blog log reveals activity.
Sirens were going before 8.0am
Tomorrow may reveal the truth.
You read it here last.......

Here it is

One of the consequences of the daily unpoliced race to work?

Welsh Education going down the toilet

Children not reading at aged 7.
What pray do they actually do in school?
Is it the parents fault for supplying duff material?

Children with attitude issues, no discipline?

Eric tells it as it is

Rules for them rules for us

Penyffordd a damp start. Sirens on the bypass. A victim of the morning race to work?
I read over the weekend that serial offenders of more than 15 crimes are still being let off with a slapped wrist. ie don't do it again or else!

Yesterday and over the weekend Penyffordd Bypass sounded like a race track with the sound of screaming exhausts. We have a morning rat run that no one will address.
Gosafe the quango in charge of keeping our roads safe are unaccountable.
North Wales is a race track at weekends.

Welsh Assembly Minister for Transport Carl Sargeant AM and his wife are on 100k a year. What does Carl do for this money.

Here's where some of our money goes. There is a sickness in our ruling classes. They just don't "get it". Read the comments section.

Things you shouldn't do in public - excess drinking - especially if you are someone

No news in Penyffordd. Showers and getting slightly cooler. Leaves are changing colour Autumn has started.

Recently local employer Bank of America have been in the news over plans to sell their UK credit card business. One might wonder why a company would sell a profitable going concern. Ben gives the answer below.

Here's Ben Bernanke USA Federal Reserve Chairman holding forth. WARNING There is profanity. Whether it's real or not is another matter. It is however not too wide of the mark.

EU countries signed up to the Euro are in a similar mess. Spain has a million new properties unsold for example.

Whatever happens in the Eurozone will affect us even though we are not a member.

Locally Buckley have announced a 10 year renewal plan.

There is a vast change taking place on Welsh town and village streets. Pubs and small shops will  all but disappear.

A Penyffordd Housing Estate with a view

Also you get free noise from the bypass.
Sounds like a race track come the weekend.

Penyffordd Allotments

Excuse barbwire. This is a small section of the allotment.

Police clampdown on speeders on A55, A470 and A483

"Chief Inspector Dave Roome from North Wales Police said: “We want to work with drivers and that is why we are giving advance notice of this week-long operation. Speeding is an issue that concerns many residents and one that we take extremely seriously."

No you don't Dave you do bugger all for Chester Rd. We have a rat run every working morning. Penyffordd Cllrs, Gosafe, Cllr Tony Sharps, Mark Tami MP and Carl Sargeant AM know this and do nothing.

What about communities. What about Penyffordd Bypass. You can't get bikers with the van because they have no number plate on the front. What about all the illegal exhausts?

postscript. Just seen a black Mercedes 60 plate overtaking three speeders going up our hill towards Broughton, still on the wrong side of the road on the bend. Scumbags really who shouldn't have a license. " Working with drivers", there's a laugh Dave.

I presume our rat run will not be policed because our councillors are too scared of the  speeders? I await our local elections.

A Model for Cllr Arnold Woolley Flintshire Council Leader

Not sure where this has originated from but it look good. Needs to include methods for stopping traffic hammering through Flintshire communities such as Wrexham Borough Council strategy.
Also keeping HGV to trunk roads.

This is a start though.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A maverick mayor elected after promising to slash council spending, clear the streets of yobs and ditch politically correct services is the torchbearer for how towns should be run.

On his first morning as Mayor of Doncaster in South Yorkshire , Peter Davies cut his salary from £73,000 to £30,000 then closed the council's newspaper for "peddling politics on the rates".

Now three weeks into his job, Mr Davies is pressing ahead with plans he hopes will see the number of town councillors cut from 63 to just 21, saving taxpayers £800,000.
Mr Davies said: "If 100 senators can run the United States of America , I can't see how 63 councillors are needed to run Doncaster "..

He has withdrawn Doncaster from the Local Government Association and the Local Government Information Unit, saving another £200,000. Mr Davies said, "They are just talking shops".

" Doncaster is in for some serious untwinning. We are twinned with probably nine other cities around the world and they are just for people to fly off and have a binge at the council's expense".

The mayor's chauffeur-driven car has also been axed by Mr Davies and the driver given another job. Mr Davies, born and bred in Doncaster, swept to power in the May election with 24,244 votes as a candidate for the English Democrats, a party that wants tight immigration curbs, an English Parliament and a law forcing every public building to fly the flag of St. George.

He has promised to end council funding for Doncaster 's International Women's Day, Black History Month and the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender History Month.
He said, "Politicians have got completely out of touch with what people want.

"We need to cut costs. I want to pass on some savings I make in reduced taxes and use the rest for things we really need, like improved children's services".

Mr Davies has received messages from well wishers across the country and abroad as news of his no-nonsense approach spreads.

Now it's your chance to spread this most sensible way to run a town council.

Not plain sailing though

No News in Penyffordd

The daily non traffic policing of our village centre continues. Gosafe a waste of public money as far as Penyffordd is concerned.

Why are HGV allowed through the village when we have a bypass?
Some of our cllrs are supporting local HGV business over village environment.
There needs to be a massive stand down come the election next year. Cllr Tom Jones and his cronies need to go. I offer Rossett village centre as the standard. Road humps and a 20 mph compulsory zone.

Back to the headline.................

It would appear the economy continues to slow down however. Shopping in Wales is down by a massive 9.2%. On Sunday I heard traders at Chirk carboot saying business is down.

Chirk Carboot

An unusual item, an unusual stall. Old fashioned trunks and boxes for sale. Chirk Carboot are now charging for entry after 8.00 am, £1 per car. Still good value, the biggest carboot in UK?

Penyffordd Allotments

are coming along well. Quite a few taken. I'm sure Cllr Cindy Hinds will know if any are available. Seems to be a bit of sharing with caravan people over use of the land.

Targets met to cut deaths and injuries on Welsh roads

Propaganda through the use of statistics by North Wales Police in The Daily Post.
Performing miracles.
How many people killed on the roads of Flintshire in the last month? Is it five? The standard of driving on the roads is risible. Lots of drivers race around with no thought for other drivers, cyclists, horses and pedestrians.

You get pushed and tailgaited. Traffic policing is next to nothing. There is a free for all after 6 at night. Cars hammer through communities ( except for Northop Hall)  safe in the knowledge that police presence is non existent.

Gosafe are a joke. Why won't they police our morning daily rat run?
Bikers hammer down our bypass doing ton plus with illegal exhausts by the 100 each weekend. North Wales is a race track for them.

CBM's have retired from traffic policing except for media puffs.

North Wales Police  are a joke over traffic policing. The statistics are more likely an issue of social change due to the credit crunch. As far as traffic policing is concerned NWP just about retired from it when Richard Brunstrom took over. This has been highlighted in the local media by a former traffic policeman. "Decimated" was the word he used.

“Together with partner agencies we are working to identify solutions and with the growing use of pedal cycles we would advise cyclists to wear helmets, light coloured clothing and reflectors at night,” Insp Hughes added."

What about the idiots behind the wheel Insp Hughes?

The bullshit  is here in The Daily Post.

postscript: Stay away from the A5104 Penyffordd to Pontblyddyn road at rush hour, it's deadly. The white line regularly crossed on bends by idiots who go too fast. That's from my wife who was there at tea time.

Penyffordd to retain British Legion Club status

in The Leader.

The special meeting held very heated. One presumes not being affiliated to the British Legion saves money or is it about being a  British Legion?
Special meetings normally require a proposer and  a number of seconders.

Welsh MP's and AM's have no pride in North Wales

Why is it that every weekend N Wales is used as a race track by bikers with illegal exhausts?

Many 100's of bikers scream along Penyffordd Bypass and many other roads in N Wales.

Carl Sargeant AM, Mark Tami MP and Mark Isherwood AM - guilty. Why do we pay them, they just talk.

The Welsh Assembly Government wants more powers. The above to me proves they are not fit for purpose.

A sad end

Anne Davies, 65, whose family live in Penyffordd near Mold, died in May this year, following the accident outside the Tesco store at about 2.40pm on December 19 last year.
Anne's husband who had been unwell also died whilst she was in hospital.

Penyffordd this morning

Autumn has temporarily arrived
HGV taking short cut through the village
As do a 1000 outside motorists each day
An extra 1000 vehicles a day through Chester Rd come the extra 234 houses
at Wood Lane Farm.

The Welsh Assembly  / Flintshire Highways plan for Chester Rd working fine.
We have been betrayed, stuffed by the above.

How many of our Penyffordd councillors sat on their hands?
Time to go councillors, not fit for purpose.

Why are we in this mess?

So sayeth The Slog

After 1959, small business, communities, educational standards, life balance, responsible local government, families, marriage, judicial openness, personal responsibility, manufacturing, creativity, meritocracy, the rule of law, legislative power balance, infrastructural investment, and sound fiscal practices were all eroded and gradually undermined.

At the same time, unrestrained immigration, bigoted gender politics, illiberal political agendas, government secrecy, administrative careerism at the expense of the nation, undemocratic Cabinet Government, credit consumption and process at the expense of creativity were all encouraged.

Why is anyone surprised that, as I write, Treasury insolvency, ineffectual armed forces and police, privacy invasion, barely literate looters, banking irresponsibility, four kids by three mothers, self-pitying loafers, unaccountable Ministers, vast inequities of wealth, desperation, violence, community degradation and economic stagnation dominate our media?

The blame can be pinpointed with three succinct words:
the political class.

postscript Melanie Phillips enough said.

Similarities

Traffic currently hammering through the village as it does every work day. Trouble in UK cities (less than 30 miles away) . Liberalism of law from community councillor all the way up to the prime minister.
Soft policing , soft punishments, politicians to blame red, blue, yellow and white.

As you sow so you shall reap.

Penyffordd and Hope - Sport

Although separate have various commonalities. We use their health clinic we haven't got one. Our children go to Castell Alun for secondary education. I presume we use their sports facilities as we have none. Our Penyffordd Cllr Tom Jones is a school governor.

Hope County Councillor Tim Newhouse is trying to improve certain Hope sporting facilities which are described in the Flintshire Chronicle as a slum in "School Slum Row" on the back page of the Flintshire Chronicle ( article not currently online)

Tim wants improvements to the sports pavillion. Castell Alun management are being bloody minded refusing parking for cricket, rugby and football. Also they are against the scale of his sporting ambitions for the community.

Tim knocked Cllr Sam Shone off his perch at the last local elections. As a result the old establishment of Hope are not happy bunnies. So it seems they are quite happy to punish Hope sporting enthusiasts to get at Tim.

Lets hope Tim stands again and buries the old fogies further. Would I take a bet that our Cllr Tom Jones is backing Tim in his noble efforts to direct youth energies in a positive direction at Castell Alun?

I think not.

It took our local CBM Ian Millington to remind Tom that you need to make investment on youth facilities.

And Penyffordd football sporting facilities?  The locals might say dire. And who is this down to?

Gosafe ( Arrive Alive)

In attendance this morning on Chester Rd. Thank you. Lets hope this is part of a strategy to slow speeders down. August is a relatively slow month due to the summer holidays. Gosafe know this though. They also have the data on when most speeding occurs. It's not when they turn up at present............................

Dobshill fatal accident further and consequences for Penyffordd children

Alternative Title. Wake up call for Penyffordd Cllrs over village safety.

Quotes below from Cllr David Williams and Cllr Cindy Hinds who has campaigned for local people to have speed limits reduced at Dobshill. Have Penyffordd Community Council ever backed Cindy over this issue?

The facts of the matter is the spot where  the girl was knocked down has a very high accident rate. There are accidents at this exact location on a regular basis.

In my campaign for  against speeding through the middle of our village ( Penyffordd) I have come across plenty of foot dragging by Penyffordd councillors.

I am looked at as something of an oddball for wanting to live in a village rather than a speedy unpoliced short cut for to Airbus, A55 and Broughton Retail Park. Perhaps this fatality will convince local councillors that village safety is of importance.

Living here I see young children cycling across Chester Rd with no thought for their own safety. At the end of the day Tom there is more than being "seen to do the right thing" you actually have to do it!

You lot have sat there for the last 5 years ignoring speeding through the village for the best part. No pushing of North Wales Police or Gosafe. No pushing for a 20 mph zone through the middle of the village. If you had anything about you you would have demanded data held by Flintshire County Council on speeding through the village. You're function is to prevent accidents rather than quote after events.

It should be noted that Mark Tami MP and Carl Sargeant AM have consistently sat on their hands with regards safety on Chester Rd, Penyffordd. Politics being part of the reason.

The "big picture" Carl is that a good percentage of drivers take no notice of children on bikes, horses or old age pensioners. They make no allowances for them whatsover. As Minister of Transport for the Welsh Assembly Government what are you going to do about it? Flintshire County Council ( Neal Cockerton and Cllr Tony Sharps) are currently doing a large foot dragging exercise  over 20 mph zones for Flintshire communities.

One final thought. Cyclists and a percentage of modern drivers are not a good mix the authorities should be banned from encouraging cycling on public highways.

Family tributes to 13-yr-old killed in Flintshire road accident at Dobshill

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-north-east-wales-14363283

Cllr Cindy Hinds has campaigned for some years for a reduction of speed limits in Dobshill. When are Flintshire Highways going to wake up to the risks posed by a largely unpoliced motoring public?

Cycling, A roads and modern driving do not mix. It's time the public were told.

ps.  In 2007 there were 2000 vehicles speeding through Chester Rd, Penyffordd. You want proof? Ask Flintshire County Council. They won't show you though because its hidden on purpose. Time for FCC to wake up and smell the coffee.

All traffic doing the speed limit this afternoon

Would this have anything to do with Gosafe being on Chester Rd.  Many thanks.
The rat run happens every school work day morning between 7.30 and 9. Why do you never turn up then. Are Penyffordd cllrs against such action?
