Traffic Calming in North Wales Villages

Last week Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom got a clean bill of health from the Audit Commission.
From my point of view as a villager with 2000 speeding motorists past my house daily in Chester Road, Penyffordd, North Wales Police come out the best of the worst.
The Audit Commission painting over the cracks with new paint.
North Wales Police and Arrive Alive do NOT have the resources to deal with the endemic speeding that happens each day in North Wales. Arrive Alive has about one new enquiry each day, they cannot deal with the daily environmental insult to villages throughout North Wales.
It is time to take the gloves off. There should be a partnership between Arrive Alive, The Police and small village communities. Hidden Speed Cameras are the answer. A new traffic calming sign advising of hidden cameras to be put in any community that has speeding traffic. Lots of signs but not many cameras needed. Speeding motorists then have the option "Do I take a chance?" They have been forewarned, no whinging required. A percentage of fines to go to the local community. Instant traffic calming after being reported in The Press about hard luck Johnny who comes speeding through our 30mph every morning at 50mph and how unfair it all is. Well Johnny its very unfair for the villages too.
