Prediction of Mobile Phone Usage

In the 1980's AT&T asked consultants McKinsey to research future usage of mobile phones.
The consultants predicted 900,000 world wide for the year 2000
AT&T decided NOT to invest in mobile phones.
Later they had to buy a company to get in on the action.
Today 2007 there are nearly 3 billion mobile phones.
In 2006 it was worked that (I dont know how) that Britons had accidentally dropped 900,000 mobile phones in toilets..................................
