Dry Bridge Mostyn
I had Googleitis one night looking for a photo of this. Its now spoiled with a Max Headroom sign. Such is progress. Googleitis is when you look for something on Google for ages and you can't find what you are looking for usually when I can't think of the appropriate words. Photos of this bridge appear very rare on the internet.

My grandmother once lived in this side of Dry Bridge. She was the widow of my grandfather who had worked all his life on Lord Mostyn's farms.
ReplyDeleteThey had lived at Wern Cottage paying rent of sixpence (a week?). She lived at #1 Dry Bridge
after her husband's death, evidently rent-free for the rest of her long life. she complained once, a truck had rammed the underpinnings of her home. It was very cold in the stone building, she kept an electric fire on in her suite, and a blanket over the stairs to the upstairs bedroom, preferring to live in the warm fug below.
Hi Ross
ReplyDeleteThanks for the comment. Mostyn is a beautiful part of Wales. I'm sure your comments will be of value to a local author or historical society in future.
