Getting recognised by Google

I see Richard Nixon our local millionaire has been having difficulty. (The Chronicle) He is an ex customer of ours in another lifetime when he had his Lotus Elise and some 1st floor offices in Hoole. Some webpages on his MoneySuperMarkets site had been redesigned. Google then wiped them off the face of the earth as far as searches on Google were concerned. If you put a word like "credit" or "mortgage" you will more than likely come up with Moneysupermarkets in the top 10 searches. This is the holy grail. I've just tried "credit" in Google to make sure I'm not talking through my pants. They have a paid for link on the right hand side but only turn up on the 2nd page in the searches. Everything is fast on the internet but getting recognised by Google is a slow process. Our website took nearly 9 months to start to get indexed. If someone like MoneySupermarkets linked to us we would get recognised immediately, sadly our connections are few. The GoogleBot visits our website everyday to index more pages. With 12,000 items on, it has some way to go. Somedays it takes a few hundred, some days 500. Richard had his men on the phone talking to Google for a few days then it was fixed. Not sure we this end would get the same treatment. Didnt know they did phonecalls............................
