  1. This is your chance to become a member of the Great and the Good. An ability to stand up to other councillors and County Hall over such idiocies as LDP Pen035 (Spar) and Pen041 (bulldozing) would be greatfully appreciated by the village especially those who live in caravans.

  2. My translation of the notice being that 10 residents can force a by election otherwise it's up to Tom and the local hostelry to decide. I think it already a done deal.

  3. Talking councillors. We had perhaps one of the most important council meetings in years in September. There were 4 councillor apologies for absence. Is that 40%?

  4. Whilst I have your attention. How many councillors make their contact details available? I think there should phone numbers and email addresses of all Penyffordd Cllrs on the council notice board.

  5. Perhaps some of the local electorate have noted the process above and taken the necessary actions to prevent a "shoe-in" of a "favoured" candidate, in order to force a by-election - time will tell.

    1. Further - I think there will be agreement between Tom Jones and David Williams. I have known them to act together in the past. Labour have 2 votes and Clive Weed is theoretically on his own. It will be interesting to see electoral literature in the next local elections. Will we have "independents" and Plaid Cymru on one sheet? Is it allowed?

    2. Thanks for your comment. Penyffordd to me seems a very conservative place. They have continuously voted in Tom and his gang. The only recent uprising of residents, the move to have a bypass around the village which was not political. I would very much like to see Labour ,Red Lion patrons or another group of 10 put a candidate forward to Colin Everett the Returning Officer. I will be surprised if it happens.

    3. Above two comments should be read in reverse order.

  6. Tom of course doesn't need to put 10 good people together because he has a majority. He runs "The List" come election day. Is he going to retire gracefully or is he going for an entry in the Guinness Book of Records?
