Something that needs to be said

I wrote this letter to The Leader last week. Looks as if it will not make the letters page. In some ways this format is better as it sits permanently on Google where as the Leader letters page is not put on their website.

cc. Chief Constable Mark Polin, Carl Sargeant AM, Mark Tami MP.

Dear Leader
A letter for consideration.
With regards the recent tragic loss of Eric Townsend a retired police officer and his wife Marie on the Mold bypass last December by a racing motorist who has now been found guilty. It is ironic that a former police officer should be struck down in the golden years of his retirement due to North Wales Police's abandonment of traffic policing aided and abetted by the North Wales Police Authority, Welsh Assembly Government and Home Office.
As the Leader letter writer, a retired police officer Mike Griffiths recently stated former Chief Constable Richard Brunstrom decimated the traffic section of NWP.
Is it not time to clear out most of the pen pushers who produce statistics we do not believe and get police officers back on the streets? This would please both communities and police officers on the front line.
With regards speeding traffic, Arrive Alive have very detailed data which is currently kept secret of where speeding is concentrated. This information should be made fully available to communities and North Wales Police so that the plague of anti social driving can be addressed properly and efficiently
The loss Eric and Marie Townsend should be a poignant reminder to North Wales Police management and politicians that making North Wales roads safer requires much more than just lip service.

Penyffordd
still over 1000 speeders in Chester Rd, Penyffordd everyday.............Arrive Alive have this data but hide it from us.
