My comments which are at the bottom of the article.
Whilst sympathising with the predicament of the Shotton gridlock I and other Chester Rd, Penyffordd residents would wish to see Cllr Cindy Hinds getting involved a little nearer home with our morning rat run and constant speeding. Cllr Cindy Hinds has been in the job for over two years now and has so far failed to address Chester Rd residents concerns. We are a major route to school. North Wales Police should be pressed into honouring their commitments to communities.
Postscript. The Labour Party should refrain from getting Cindy to quote on traffic issues until she has fixed Chester Rd Penyffordd. The exception being the rolling out of 20 mph zones in communities and outside schools.
Further postscript. I shoot at the wrong people. Cindy is part of a scrutiny committee on Environment at FCC. Cindy was speaking in her capacity as a committee member. Still ironic as we have over a 1000 speeders a day through the village. Is speeding cars nothing to do with environment?
Leader Quote
"But Cllr Matt Wright, chairman of Flintshire’s environment and regeneration scrutiny committee, has vowed not to let the issue go and said it remains a top priority for Dave Faulkner, the council’s head of highways and transportation.
Cllr Wright made the promises after members of the committee, including Penyffordd councillor Cindy Hinds, voiced fears about Shotton having become one of the worst areas in Flintshire for traffic problems."
