An example of what Penyffordd is missing out on

A ward half the size of Penyffordd.
£170K for a skate park in Leeswood.

I'm not saying it's easy to get grant money, it most certainly is not.

It doesn't help however when you have councillors who have been cllrs for 20 years
who think turning up for a meeting once a month is all that's required.

Will you vote the same tired old councillors in for another 4 years of no ambition?

Your choice !

  1. Interesting read that Colin
Especially the one about the grant for Leeswood that Councillor Ray Hughes has fought very hard for.
Do you agree that councillor Huges has done a good job for Leeswood then?
My point being that one of the objectives in your leaflet is to stop councillors being able to stand after the age of 75
How old is councillor Hughes? (Not that it makes a difference to me but.....) Older than your agesit cut off age for a councillor I suspect or if not he certainly will be during his next term if he is voted in again on Thursday.

    1. Your comment is welcomed. I'm not sure how old Ray Hughes is. Yes he has done a very good job for Leeswood. Problem is here, Tom Jones goes through the motions, always "doing the right thing" but in effect doing very little.
Tom Jones still has a good brain on his shoulders. IMHO, He should play an advisory role.

There is another gentleman who will probably get in instead of me. He has trouble keeping up with what is happening in meetings.

He is the main thrust of my argument on older residents standing as cllrs.

  2. As a 'more mature' Penyffordd resident, who nevertheless enjoys getting out and about on my bicycle (I use the roads), I am somewhat bewildered by the seemingly constant obsession for a skate park in the village. Cindy Hinds even mentions it in her election leaflet as a "need".

I would like to know the percentage of the community that would benefit from such a facility, guessing that it would be quite a small number, and suggest that there are better uses for grants of that order that would benefit a larger proportion of the village.

A personal view, one of many I am sure, and I hope that the elected councillors recognise that there is a quiet (silent?) majority amongst the people they represent and seek to canvas a wider view should such funding become available.

    1. Yes I agree.
I am part of the silent majority too. I want a village that is bypassed by through traffic.

The bypass should have been heavily noise mitigated with earth banking.

      Poor negotiations by our councillors?

    2. Cindy is just pandering to a section of the Community, casting her net out for votes.

  3. I think money could be used for more effective things such as extra dog bins through the woods, or even a proper walk way through the woods maybe an exercise trail, you see so many walkers and runners up there, to be truthful I have not seen many skate boarders around the village for about 20 years!
