Penyffordd Parish Plan

Before the elections I went on about Penyffordd Council not  having a strategic village plan. That's a plan that goes beyond spending as little money as possible. This drew considerable comment so it must have hit a nerve or two.

I have before me " Guilden Sutton Parish Plan ". This is a grand affair. No expense spared. A 32 page, A4, cast coated, full colour booklet.

A steering committee was set up in 2006 of councillors and non councillors. It was setup to be separate from the community council.

This document is highly recommended to be read. Perhaps our councillors will consider asking Penyffordd residents what they wish for the future of Penyffordd.

This would involve ALL Penyffordd councillors working together for the good of the village.
Is it possible?

  1. This may be a bridge too far for a community council who do not have an email address.

    but.............

How about getting on Twitter Tom?

  3. Actually reading through this I was impressed, it is a very good parish plan. Somehow I don't think that Tom Jones and the powers that be would ever consider taking this on board. God forbid we inject any new ideas into Penyffordd! A steering committee that comprised of anyone except age old Councillors would not be welcome.
It would be too forward thinking, too 21st century. Tom on twitter? Come on Colin that really is a step too far!

    1. I think change will slowly creep in The Welsh Assembly Government are pressing for Penyffordd Community Council to have a website.

We have two new cllrs who I like to think are not Tom's mates.

Perhaps prospective cllrs should have to sit an exam with no help available from others.

One question perhaps could be " Do you know what day it is? " lol

      Sorry to be disrepectfull.

  4. Hi Colin, You have some good posts up here this morning.
I would have thought that any Council worth their salt, would be proud to implement such a plan, its got a lot going for it.

    1. I think this is a standard for English parishes. Part of the reason residents want nothing to do with the council I feel is because they are excluded from most council actions until they want your vote.

Cllr David Williams wanted residents to have a say at each council meeting. This of course was far too much for Tom !

Still all Tom's cronies voted the cronies back in including a cllr not fit to stand.

Anyway can't complain too much otherwise the traffic calming for Chester Rd might get stopped.............
