Penyffordd Airport continued.............

Further.............
In the Flintshire Chronicle, Dave Goodban  reports a meeting between Airbus, Aviation Park Group and  Broughton and Bretton Community Council over the above

Judith Richards, chairwoman of Broughton Action Group said the councillors are acting like "lapdogs".
Councillors did not ask the right questions.

They will do anything Airbus want.

Airbus' assurances over the limitations of the commercial airport operation are full of generalizations.

Will council leader Penyffordd Cllr Tom Jones take a stand or just be seen to be doing the right thing?
Will the airport reach the Penyffordd Council agenda sheet?

I'm presuming those who want to take an interest can do so through here.

Nothing about the airport on the site so far.

  1. We get the feeling that an awful lot has gone on behind closed doors. This is a massive project and it is being pushed forward without public consultation, probably because of the feeble promise of jobs for the area.
Will this reach the Penyffordd Council Agenda? Fat chance! Will Tom Jones take a stand? I suspect that hell will freeze over before that man gets off his hands and shows some concern for this community...tell me again....why was he voted back onto the PCC?

    1. I think you are correct about closed doors. This project was rolled out mid August. This airport is a huge issue for local environment. Most people are asleep at the wheel. Will it make life easier for Mark Tami MP going to Westminster, Carl Sargeant AM and Mark Isherwood going to Cardiff, Colin Everett going home to Newport? I think so.

To be fair to Tom there is little he can do if it is a "fait accompli". As for why he was voted back in. The good people of Penyffordd decided that Tom aged 86, Colin (late 70's) and Joe (late 70's) were the way to take Penyffordd into the 21st century. They will reap what they have sown.

  2. And I don't expect we will be reading any ground breaking statements from Cllr's Colin Bithell and Joe Bell any time soon, that would be too much to ask.

    1. I saw Joe Bell the other day doing 0.5 mile an hour trying to get over Chester Rd with a walking stick before he got run over.
He looses track of what goes on in council meetings.

Of no use whatsover to the community.

Oh I forgot. Joe allows Tom to have the majority vote on the council. Community takes second place to power on the council.

    1. You are very correct re ryanair etc. Lots of people have worked very hard, sacrificed an awful lot to live in relative peace. The airport will destroy all this.

    2. Absolutely! Our houses that we worked hard to buy will lose their value and who is going to consider buying them anyway. This area is becoming swamped with new builds, more traffic and now air traffic.Peace and quiet is going to be a thing of the past.
Airbus care about profit, FCC have their own agenda. Their idea of transparency is to leak the story to The Leader, well after the decision has been made.
