Police should certainly attend Council meetings. It is only an hour a month and it is important that they are aware of what is going on in the community they serve. If 'Sian' was not aware of crime that is being committed, then perhaps it is because we have lost faith in NWP, past experience has taught us that they show little interest and so we no longer bother to report the crimes, waste of a phone call.
ReplyDeleteYes you make a good point. One NWP excuse being "it's a civil matter". This was used recently when substantial sums of money went missing. It was eventually investigated. Perhaps when our MP Mark Tami made representations.
ReplyDeleteThere is also the issue of my favourite traffic policing. NWP effort is token. The occasional media blast to look like they are still in the business. It would help if Penyffordd Cllrs would press the police. They are however on the side of the voters (sorry I mean speeders).
ReplyDeleteBring on the Police Commissioner. Lets make it political.
ReplyDeleteMost of these Councillors have their own agendas, they don't give the square root of a toss about the voters. We are all tired of the present regime. Come next May there will be a big change.
ReplyDeleteI still think you should stand for the Council Colin, stir things up a bit and give Tom a run for his money!
Yes that wil be the Tom Jones who as school governor of Penyffordd Junior School has ignored speed data on the junior school major route to school.
ReplyDeleteThat will be the Tom Jones who stands up for HGV taking short cuts through the village. ( by sitting on his hands)
ReplyDeleteThat will be the Tom Jones who wants to be Chairman of Penyffordd Community Council after the elections next May.
ReplyDeleteThat wil be the Tom Jones who got his cronies to vote the Penyffordd Wine Circle a pittance.
ReplyDeleteThe very same Tom Jones who has had his day! Come May there will be big changes not only in FCC but in the Community Councils also. The likes of Tom Jones and his buddies have had it sewn up for far too long!
ReplyDeleteThat may be the case but.............
ReplyDeleteWho knows where all the postal voters live? What percentage of Penyffordd voters use the postal vote? Do they get a visit to help them with their forms?
Last elections I didn't know the postal vote system until it was too late.
