Attempted Break In Abbotts Lane Tonight

On Facebook somebody reports that their front door handle was tried to see if it was open. The lights were on, they were in and security light came on.
This is disconcerting.
This individual says it has happened once before.
Another person mentions same scenario, the dogs went mad.

If this stunt is tried at our house they will get 22kg of muscle and teeth with night sight flying at them. He doesn't let go. He will be closely followed by a golfing male wielding a mashie niblick. One's home is one's castle. Most probably against the law but they shouldn't be breaking in.
Too many horror stories in the press. We should have similar laws as US. The right to fire arms and a right to shoot intruders.

Last night a girl on FB said someone tried to set her car on fire which was on her drive.
I know the technique used, it was mentioned in The Daily Post. This was Cae Vounog which must be a new estate.

I hope these people have reported incidents to NWP.

All change at The Evening Leader

A sign of the times

http://www.wrexham.com/news/editorial-voluntary-redundancy-programme-starts-at-nwn-a-leader-edition-quietly-closes-last-week-142908.html

A big thank you to Leader staff you have done communities proud.
A big help when 2000 cars a day* broke the speed limit most days on Chester Rd.

*FCC hold the data

Speeding in the village

North Wales Police were up The Vounog yesterday educating motorists. Down here in Chester Rd we have a speed hump to slow down traffic. Some motorists go full speed over them.
In fact some motorists use the traffic bump as an over taking opportunity when motorists slow down for the bump.

Profiles of the speed bumps can be made more severe at little cost.

Our lolly pop man is currently unwell and last week a young girl had a narrow escape I am told. We had a road traffic accident 2 days ago between a bus and two cars. Nothing to do with the bus driver. There was a rather large bang as the two cars collided.  The give way at the bottom of Penymynydd Rd a dated function not fit for modern roads.

Time for some education in Chester Road.

Time for 20mph zones. Flintshire County Council currently have an allergy to 20 mph zones.
It would be good to see a change of policy.

Penyffordd Bus Time Table

I'm told time tables have changed. I try not to use buses myself after my Crosville experiences as a child. The use of a car is the ultimate freedom.

Here's the time table which I presume is correct.

http://www.flintshire.gov.uk/en/PDFFiles/Roads-and-Travel/Bus-Timetables/3-3A.pdf

Here's an app below.
It says they do the trains too
My wife uses an app to see if trains to Wrexham are running on time or cancelled due to vehicles hitting bridges.

No Entry at the top of Penymynydd Rd

HGC De Sir Fflint / NWP South Flintshire
Word of warning, as of the 13th December the ‘Fail to comply with No Entry Sign’ offence has reverted back to an endorsable offence under section 36 of the RTA.

This means 3 points on your driving licence or to put it another way caught 4 times means you lose your licence.
Police still get reports from Penymynydd Road about people entering the No Entry sign near the school so be aware.

Quiet Tarmac for the By Pass

That would be good.
