Football
Football must be by many times the most popular sport enjoyed by villagers either playing or watching.
Penyffordd Seniors play at Hanson Cement pitch in Padeswood
Penyffordd Juniors play at Leeswood.
Why is this?

Flintshire County Council are hard up so we are going to have to pay more
If you look at your council tax rate schedule for the coming year you will notice the Penyffordd Community Council precept has increased by over 23%.
This sounds an awful lot. Someone I know is raising unnecessary blood pressure because of it.
Haven't got the sheet in front of me but it's about £25 for us in Band C. ( 50p a week)
Flintshire County Council and I suppose all other councils in UK are looking to make major savings
due to the greed of the banksters circa 2008.
This hangover will run for years.
Over the next 12 months organisations within the village will have the chance to take over community assets. Also Xmas street decorations, street lighting, playing areas will be transferred from county to village.
Hard times ahead unless villagers are willing to pay.

Traffic News
North Wales Police are holding high profile attendance in Penymynydd Rd, a major route to school. There must have been complaints of speeding over the speed bumps outside the school which has an advisory 20mph limit.
On Chester Rd, drivers are driving too slow for some. Drivers have been seen overtaking 4 cars on the bumps up towards Broughton.
Again an issue on why some drivers should have licenses.
I should point out that some drivers take the fixed speed bump at about 40mph.

To the doctors
I have an infection in the hearing dept which won't go away. The waiting list to see any doctor is 2 weeks.
Didn't ask about the list to see a particular doctor.
Decided to rough it at the open surgery 11am to 12.
One and half hour wait for a 5 minute consultation and an antibiotic prescription.
How did we get this bad?

Congratulations to Penyffordd Community Council
After 3 years, up to date minutes and agendas are now appearing on the community council website.
Can we please get rid of the fir trees councillors?
postscript: a live link to the comedy minutes mentioned in comments.

Penyfforrdd Community Councillor Vacancy
Elected Councillor Joe Bell has been disqualified because he doesn't attend council meeting. Joe has been rather unwell for some time and should not have stood at the last election. ( keywords, sour grapes )
It would be fair to say a proportion of our active electorate would vote for the village clock or a sheep if asked to do so.
That's politics for you.
Details of how to apply for the vacant position are on the Council notice board outside the post office.
Next full community council elections will be in 2016.
