Of course speed causes accidents, if you go too fast you have less time to react to something. Also, the speed you are going greatly increases the chance of someone being killed, if you are hit by someone going at thirty you are likely to die if hit by someone at twenty - you'll probably live. Being hit by cars is the biggest cause of death of children in the UK - that's right it really is. Lets get sensible about speed and stop pandering to the idiots who think the road was put there for them to drive like lunatics and who then complain because the police enforce the LAW.
