postscript: Outside Dobshill garage where there are numerous accidents. Cllr Hinds has been trying to get this 60 mph speed limit reduced to 30 mph. As usual Flintshire foot dragging on speed limit reduction. It needs to be 20 mph for the muppets.

The issue isn't the speed limit, it's the layout of the road and the close proximity of the entrances of the garage to the roundabout that is the problem.
ReplyDeleteThe issue could be solved quite easily, with no need to reduce the speed limit, as traffic "naturally" slows as it approaches Dobshill.
By preventing traffic entering the garage by turning right, and preventing traffic exiting the garage by turning right.
By forcing traffic to use both Dobshill and Penymynydd roundabouts as the means of changing direction, rather than having traffic "crossing" each respective carraigeway would prevent nearly all the accidents from happening.

Yes Robert I agree. My wife mentions Tesco Petrol, Broughton as an example. There are numerous such sites in Flintshire. Highways should be more proactive. A good use of funding from the WAG.
ReplyDeleteFurther. If lots of drivers would back off instead of tail gaiting there would also be a lot less accidents. We are a small island with lots of cars and no one is going any where fast on A roads.
ReplyDeleteThis is avery bad place traffic wise, no sooner have you left the roundabout than you are faced with traffice entering and exiting the garage.
