Chester Rd flooding issues

This is part of the cause of Chester Rd flooding issues.
Photo taken for council reference purposes. re traffic calming and drains infrastructure.

There are three added extras to Chester Rd surface water

1. The above which I think is a BT grid on Penymynydd Rd
2. The council grid on the road next to it. Water comes out of it rather than the other way around.
3. Surface water off the Institute flows through gateway and onto Chester Rd.

  1. There is considerable flooding on the footpath between the houses on Bilberry Close (No's 2,4,6, and 8) and Penyffordd Junior School. This happens quite regularly as there is no suitable drain at the 'low point' of the path. Adding to the issue is the fact that the Council have seen fit to cement up the holes in the base of the block wall by the fence, which is now acting like a dam.

  2. Hi Ian
Thanks for the information. FCC have put a traffic cone over a grid near the Millstone.
Penyffordd councillors do read the blog lets hope they take your comments on board.

Apparently if you ring Welsh Water they say flooding is nothing to do with them, its United Utilities you require. If you ring United Utilities they say its nothing to do with them either........

  3. At times like this your Blog comes into its own Colin. Always good to keep abreast of what is happening on a local level. Community Cllrs. should take note and get a website built!

    1. It is possible to modify a free google blog to accommodate council agenda, minutes and councillor details and even a forum for residents ( god forbid )

The only trouble with such an approach that it allows people from the comfort of their own homes to communicate and have recorded their complaints, views, etc

Tom remains in charge due to his majority. Will the Community Council have an email address in the next 4 years?

      Only time will tell.
