Vision for former Ysgol Penyffordd site

A vision has been set out which could see shops, bungalows and an events area created in place of an old school building in Flintshire.

Local councillor David Williams said he would like to see businesses, housing and an open space where events could be held.

Hurray! Penyffordd pubs have reopened.

I am told there were zero cases reported in Flintshire over the last few days. I've driven past our 2 hostelries at tea time. People sitting at tables outside with over coats on due to the cold weather we are experiencing, no inside stuff allowed

Outdoor Carboots I go to are closed for another month. Who in their right minds would vote the current bunch of wnkers back  into the Welsh Assembly?

Saw a man today in a smart coat in a cemetary in countryside on the outskirts of Llay on his own, wearing a mask .....

The Maelor Hospital back to normal, no where to park. Another Welsh Assembly success. There was loads of land next to the carpark but they built an F off central fire station most of the land and outside resources are never used.

Fck you voters, yet you stupids keep voting for them. Will you never learn. Apparently not. You deserve what you get.

So,I'll pick Lisa up from work

A55 Posthouse to Sainsbury's roundabout currently closed for 4 hours due to accident. So its over to Larry's at Pontblyddyn then into Wrexham. Cefn y Bedd traffic the best option.

Skip News

45 minute wait at Buckley this afternoon.

I've stopped going to Buckley. Don't like the layout.

I go to Mold skip on the Nerquis road.

Usually quieter.

Dog Thieves

are visiting Penyffordd and surrounding villages and towns.  They usually have a white van, 2 or three of them. They will use violence to separate you from your dogs. They mark the front of houses/gardens so associates know where the dogs are. They can be East European, have a strong Irish accent or Asian. Details and photos are all over local Facebooks. It is happening nationally.

I have a lot to say on this but will end up with a police warning so I'll just leave it as above.

Well done to local residents

who picked up 50 bags of litter in Penyffordd district over the weekend.

Not so well done to the  Flintshire County Council Refuse Team who sprayed Crossroads and Hawarden Rd with litter that fell out of the wagon last Tuesday morning. ( and not picked up )

Perhaps Penyffordd Council need to have a word.....

Park in the Past - Where its going.

On our doorstep and not known about by many. There's a couple of parking spots on Stryt Isa. I think its possible to get there on public footpaths.

postscript: I see there is a bridle path at the top of the village on the Wrexham Rd that joins to Stryt Isa near the footpath that goes over the railway into Park In the Past footpaths. Some are proper footpaths others permitted footpaths.

Kinnerton Lakes

What I write here may be unsubstantiated (writing pants ) but here goes. I was in Larry's pub The Bridge Inn at Pontblyddyn talking to a couple some years ago. The man brought up Kinnerton Lakes, he said they were underground.

Do Hanson Cement draw water from them? This sign is in Bramley Lane, Kinnerton. There is one in Barracks Lane ( someone calls it Cow Shit Lane ) Penyffordd. I'm sure I've seen others on road sides back through Penymynydd to Padeswood.

Seem to remember water drains into Kinnerton Lakes from the Wirral amongst other sources.

Surgery Tales

Wife: Hello is that the surgery.

Wife: My husband has very high blood pressure and heart rate, can I speak to a doctor.

210 / 108..... HR 105

Surgery. No, your husband has not allowed permission to do so.

We've been at the surgery for 30 years........

Common sense did prevail in the end.

postscript: Telephone meeting with doctor.

Next day: I'm still here  150 / 80  HR 63

20MPH speed limits in residential areas.

A Flintshire community has been chosen for a pilot trial of lower traffic speed limits on residential streets

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Traffic hammers through Chester Rd, Penyffordd everyday.
I see 5 yr olds hurtling down Penymynydd Rd on scooters and not being able to stop at the Chester Rd junction.

Quite easy to measure. Just put some wires across the road. They can even identify specific vehicles using vehicle wheel layout data.

Wrexham BC have been building 20 mph speed limits in residential areas for the last 10 yrs. Our local MP's village has had 20 mph speed limits for quite some years.

Alternative Title (perhaps)

Flintshire County Council yet to unblock road drains at Llong.
