Cllr Linda Vidamour to stand down?

I hear rumours that Linda is to stand down in 2016.
I think one of our best councillors.
Intelligent, perceptive, willing to ask questions.

I can think of at least another Independent Tom Jones Party who will not be standing.

Is the Red Lion Group to become the dominant group?

Cllr David Williams or Cllr Clive Weed?

Is David Williams going to stand? I've asked around. Even asked high up. No one's saying or knows. Some of my readers are logging on daily waiting for an answer to this important Penyffordd news for the future.

Linda Vidamour should stand again but I'm told there is doubt.

David not standing is bad news. Colin Bithell is all front and no substance.
He hates me because I have an interest in Penyffordd environment.

If Penyffordd votes him in again they deserve all they get. Little vision for the village. He also is not keen on local government transparency.

Knows all local government functions but where has he been getting grant money for Penyffordd. Where has he been over youth sport facilities. Just waltzing around County Hall all day. Getting red in the face over Hanson Cement.

We need someone to stand up for Penyffordd. Perhaps Colin has changed.
I think however old dog, new tricks.........................

Perhaps we have someone in the shadows. Someone dynamic who will show this previous council up for the moribund they are. ( Is that English) !

Still on the Tom and Colin theme. Wednesday night was Penyffordd Wine Circle night. I decided to let the society know about the dirty deeds of Penyffordd cllrs over their refusal to give a proper level of grant money as given to the three legged football club the Red Lion Strollers  ( prop Cllr David Williams).

I took along some photocopies of the council minutes. The girls weren't happy, voices were raised. Me, I said nothing.

Tom and Colin can expect a few votes less. Lisa says may be 18 plus family members.

As for Edwina an ex member selling her mates down the river?


Is Cllr Williams the new Penyffordd Machiavelli?

Affordable Homes within Penyffordd - Cllr David Williams

David has had a battle on his hands over this. As far as I can see looking at council minutes he is the only councilor standing up for affordable homes in Penyffordd. Where is Labour Cllr Cindy Hinds on this? This is supposedly her natural territory.

David is to be congratulated for not letting this go. Other cllrs need to be reminded of when they first tried to buy a house.

Other cllrs in my opinion are out of touch. Or are they playing politics with an election approaching?

I'm surprised at Cllr Linda Vidamour she has grown up children. Perhaps she is under orders from Head Prefect Cllr Tom Jones.

Penyffordd Community Councillors have no moral compass

On Wednesday 26th October a meeting was held to hand out £3200 to community groups in Penyffordd. Cllrs Tom Jones and Colin Bithell wished it to be recorded that they wished Penyffordd Wine Society which has been going for nigh on 30 years to be excluded, no reason offered.

Did any councillor or Chairman David Williams ask why? Not a peep.
I am particularly disappointed in Cllrs Linda Vidamour and Cindy Hinds remaining silent.

Penyffordd Councillors stick the boot in to Penyffordd Wine Circle

It would be fair to say that Penyffordd Wine Circle has diminished numbers for various reasons not related to the current financial climate. Each year Penyffordd Councillors dole our our money (rates) to communities and groups through out the village and further. This year they have in their infinite wisdom decided to give Penyffordd Wine Circle the grand some of £25. Whilst everyone else receives over a £100 pounds.

Cllrs Colin Bithell and Tom Jones had it minuted that they wish the Penyffordd Wine Circle to receive no further grants.

You would wonder why Penyffordd Wine Circle deserve such treatment. What have they done to Penyffordd Cllrs. Nothing.

There are of course Penyffordd councillors who are for the morning rat run being allowed to speed. You think me unfair. Why then does it continue after 5 years.

I'm surprised Cllr Linda Vidamour goes along with the speeding after 5 years.

I once said to a councillor I though the village full of philistines.
She protested, I still think the same a few years on.

I use Rossett as an example of good village traffic calming.

We are a major short cut for trunk road traffic including HGV even though we have a bypass.
No traffic policing.
Gosafe will not release traffic data in a proper manner
Flintshire County Council lies over the amount of speeding.

Here's a token effort in The Leader just to show NWP appear to be doing their job. Meanwhile the rest of us suffer.

Cllr Linda Vidamour successes

Perhaps I'm being a little unfair. Clerk Nigel's usual practice with council agenda was to put the agenda which could run to eight pages in the notice box which is locked with just the front page showing. All the interesting stuff hidden. After me asking about three times Clerk Nigel now spreads the agenda across the inside of the glass fronted notice board.

The water stained, sun faded remaining notices a testament to what the community council thinks of residents. Where mushrooms are kept springs to mind.

I consider Linda one of the best councillors we have, intelligent and dilligent, hard working, giving up time to be a councillor despite having limited spare time.

I hope these comments below will not discourage. They do however for the sake of Chester Rd residents need to be said.

Failures.

1. Chester Rd rat run happens every work day morning, in my opinion many 100's of vehicles hammer through the village every morning. This has been purposely ignored by Linda and for that matter every other Penyffordd Cllr.
( We still have over 1000 speeders every day and have done for over 4 years)

There has been some sort of agreement between PCC that Linda is chair of that CBM Howie Williams did not have to traffic police Chester Rd which is a major route to school , is used by many old age pensioners.
Gosafe have never been pushed to attend.

2. Communication with the village still remains in the stone age.  We should have agendas and minutes of meetings online. At present there is a hand scrawled letter from Clerk Nigel on the notice board, its all a disgrace.
The bottom line is that the community council treat residents like mushrooms until they need the votes. ( I must add that Cllr Hinds and Williams do produce news letters. )

I could set up a free blog that could be bolted onto the malfunctioning community website in half an hour. What it involves is Cllr David Williams doing his job properly and Clerk Nigel joining the 21 st century.

As per normal traffic hammering through Chester Rd a major route to school.

How many vehicles an hour do we have coming through Chester Rd, 500 or 800?

I'm sure if I did not raise the issue you would be quite content for traffic

to hammer through the village everyday. Is this not disgraceful?

Did anyone oppose Warren Bank?

Did anyone think to ban HGV?

Is there not rotteness in the council, lack of foresight etc? Mind you if we have cllrs who are flunkies for the county council?

I read in the Penyffordd Council minutes for September that Linda (Chairman) had pressed CBM Howie Williams to do traffic policing in Chester Rd. A councillor with some grit. We need more of those.

It would be fair to say I could not have written the letter that appeared in The Flintshire Chronicle if I had known the above. That's where Penyffordd Community Council are constantly stupid. If residents such as me are given information we cannot complain.

You get fed up of looking in the draw at the Penyffordd Post Office for the minutes. If they were online that would be good but we can't have residents having information at hand, it's made as difficult as possible.

A village full of Philistines?

I've been watching the speeding traffic again, I know I shouldn't as it winds me up. It's called having pride in where one lives. After three years of going on at Penyffordd councillors its plain my values of environment and safety for our children and residents are shared by few on the Penyffordd council. Most of them live in cul de sacs and have little sympathy for us on the main roads.

My car has been damaged because I have spoken out against speeding.

I have stated the above before. Cllr Linda Vidamour has said previously she is NOT a member of the philistine movement.

Does Penyffordd get the councillors it deserves? There are good people in the village. They appear to be in small measure though.

A visit by Gosafe

At 12.30 pm today. The first in a year? Probably initiated by Howie. Thank you Howie.
I notice Chester Rd, Penyffordd is not on the camera map.
Looks like they lost the Gosafe website name.

Gone is the no copying protection. Gone are statistics that show Chester Rd has a 28 mph average with 800 speeders a day ( not shown) , gone is the 85 percentile ripoff where the 15% top speeders are removed to make the data look better.

In fact all the statistics have been removed so the proletariat just take whatever Gosafe say as read. Perhaps for the best as councillors are not interested in the statistics. *
Gone is the web page that showed Chester Rd as a rural idyl.  

Perhaps Gosafe will start working for communities?

Persistence

A happy Christmas to my readers. Who some of you are and why you look at the blog is a little mystery but who cares. (My log tells me of computers visiting and where they come from but little else)

I admire Paul Flynn MP and Tam Dalyell. They too are persistent the perfect role models. If Penyffordd councillors* think over a 1000 vehicles hammering through the village centre each day is fine they should resign in the new year. I will be as persistent as it takes to stop this daily violation of our village environment.

Quote Paul Flynn " When I won my award in Cardiff last week, I quoted Tam in a brief speech. I said that the look on the faces on my wife and staff when I mention Afghanistan is similar to look that came over the face of Tam Dalyell's wife when he mentioned the Belgrano for the 1,747th time."

And so it is with my wife Lisa when I mention speeding traffic through the village.

Postscript: I call him Carl because he has has been in receipt of approximately 250 emails from myself over the last 2.5 years with regards speeding in the village.

Perhaps he can make local government more varied and dynamic especially Penyffordd Community Council (average age 96.5) which needs a big change, Cllr Linda Vidamour excluded.

Penyffordd Councillors lack of commitment

For 2.75 years I have raised the issue of mass speeding through the village. There has been very little interest.
Chester Rd is a major route to a primary school, councillors ignore this.

My polite letter to Penyffordd Community Council met by a phone call from Community Clerk Nigel (GNI) Jones saying that speeding was nothing to do with the council.
Little has changed.

I have been in various trouble including threats of legal action with Cllr Colin Bithell being the ring leader because Penyffordd councillors will not push North Wales Police and Arrive Alive to do their job.

I helped with the removal of Cllr Colin Bithell at the last election because he would not listen. He lost a very lucrative position (circa £20,000) in Flintshire County Council due to him not seeing speeding as a village issue

At the next election we need a mass clearout.

We need 10 Cllr Linda Vidamour's.

Postscript: Lisa my wife informs me she will no longer attend Penyffordd Community Council meetings due to my blog comments.

A request to Penyffordd Councillors

Dear Penyffordd Councillors,

I understand that there is the Penyffordd Neighbourhood Forum at the Legion at 6.00 pm Wednesday evening. There is a notice in the Spar but not the Post Office.

Unfortunately I cannot attend.

As elected representatives of Penyffordd will you ask North Wales Police what they intend to do about 1000+ speeders each day through Chester Rd Penyffordd which is also a major route to school.

Can you also ask that the problem be added to North Wales Police's website whilst the issue is ongoing..

Speeding through communities is anti social behaviour.

As you are aware Flintshire County Council hold the relevant speed data which they refuse to release.

An example of wholesale anti social behaviour is the morning rat run 7.30 am to 9.00am weekdays.

Main points.

CBM Chris Pullen is moving to Penerlag.
Inspector Alun Oldfield is moving to become a Detective Inspector. On the point of speeding traffic ( a 1000+ a day) they have been a dead loss. There has been progress however with our "youth". Will this be temporary or lasting?

On the plus side Inspector Oldfield got rid of the travellers who were trespassing pretty smartish.

Four CBM's have applied for the position of CBM for Penyffordd district and Higher Kinnerton.
This is somewhat unprecedented according to CBM Chris Pullen.

We have acting Police Inspector Alan Massey until the Inspector Martin Best is ready to take up his position.

Two community councillors tonight were rather unwell.

Cllr Cindy Hinds is the new Chairperson for the next year.
Cllr Linda Vidamour is Vice Chairperson.

Speeding was brought up. Vounog, Penymynydd Rd.
Possible 20 mph for outside Penyffordd junior school. 30 mph for Dobshill.

Chester Rd continues to have a 1000+ speeders each day.

Cllr Colin Bithell ("I stand for the family"local elections 2008) of course is dead against 20 mph in the middle of the village. I will campaign actively against Colin if he should stand again for councillor if he will persist on being against 20 mph in our village centre.

Cllr David Williams is having trouble with Flintshire County Council. Apparently they are not answering his correspondence. David will not answer any emails I send him either.

What goes around comes around David. lol

Is Cllr David Williams for traffic calming in the middle of the village? Or a wide open road for his speeding mates at The Red Lion.

The bridle path in Lower Mountain appears to be a success. I managed to get The Leader to do a story. FCC has filled in the bog as they said they would. The horse riders are happy with it.
