Higher Kinnerton which has a similar issue (speeding /short cut traffic) but smaller volumes than Chester Rd is to have speed cushions along its main road. (presuming not too many objections)
Last week Chambers Lane, Mynydd Isa was advertised for similar.
Is Chester Rd, Penyffordd to get road cushions?
They have the data, they know what's happening.
Are we to carry on being a major support for local trunk roads?
We shall see.

I have been taken to task
by a leading officer of Flintshire County Council. Every morning traffic hammers through the village. Our county councillors David Williams, Cindy Hinds and community councillors continue to ignore this dangerous state of affairs.
I have replied to the leading FCC officer saying that if our councillors and Gosafe did their job properly there would be no need to raise the issue getting personal.
There is currently a measurement of traffic speed going on in Chester Rd. The data produced is static a point in time. What is not shown is that lots of vehicles are in acceleration mode when passing through the device.
The data of course will be kept secret. Nothing to do with Chester Rd community.
Leave it to us highway professionals we know best , you are all stupid.
We are five years into this, you're continuing lack of concern councillors for the safety of our lolipop man, school children, residents, post office users a glaring indictment.

Chester Rd is having a traffic survey
Two weeks after castigating Cllr David Williams in the local papers over short cut traffic levels through the village ( we'll ignore zero traffic policing) whilst his political bosses Cllrs Arnold Woolley and Tony Sharps have stopped speeding short cuts through their wards we find we are having a traffic survey.
Chester Rd has been allowed to return to part time trunk road status by our councillors ( god bless them)
The device used are the wires across the road which can measure exact speeds and even type of vehicle by measuring the distance between the wheels of vehicles which pass over the device.
Everything is digital now so the results can be whacked into MS Excel to show the true profile of traffic through Chester Rd.
This data is kept top secret we individuals who pay public servants are deemed too stupid to be allowed to look at such information that affects our environment and safety.

Gareth Williams of Mold calls continues to call for traffic survey in Mold
in the letters page in The Flintshire Chronicle. I know we are talking Mold here and not Penyffordd. Gareth who is an ex deputy leader of FCC says that around Mold schools there are no speed restriction, no traffic calming measures, nothing. Do we have to wait for accidents he says.
Well Gareth you most probably know that this is the modus operandi of Flintshire Highways. Talk about lowering speed limits and they bring the fatality book out. What! you haven't had three fatalities ! You have no chance!
Flintshire live in the mid 1950's. They care nothing for communities. Qualification bars for 20 mph zones are at Olympic height. WAG need to force Flintshire they are hopeless.
Visit Wrexham communities. 30 years ahead of Flintshire.
I hope Gareth gets in next May. He could have Sharpie's job.
Questions
1. Which party will Gareth be standing for
2. Which ward will he be contesting
ps calling for a traffic survey and not being a councillor. Flintshire don't like that.
I don't like the relationship between councillors and county. We residents don't count one iota.

Speed Limits in Penyffordd
made it to Penyffordd Community Council October agenda. The Independent led Flintshire County Council have so far proved useless in the role out of 20 mph compulsory zones. All talk talk. Cllr David Williams is a member the leading group. So is Cllr Tony Sharps. One rule for Northop Hall David and one rule for Penyffordd with regards traffic calming
Neal Cockerton Head of FCC Road Assets seems to be a speed man. What exactly is Carl Longland, Director of Environment's function?

Flintshire Road Fatalities An email to County Councillor Mike Peers
Hi Mike
You're concerned about road fatalities in Flintshire. You won't get any proper help from FCC and NWP because they are part of the cause.
http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/106532/probe-call-into-worrying-death-toll-on-county-roads.aspx
Shall I offer my three penneth worth?............... I'm going to anyway.
1. N Wales. Each week end N Wales is used a race track by bikers and tourists in cars. What are NWP doing about it? Very little, just pretending. They are scared of the bikers and the Daily Post.
2. Flintshire. Each morning major roads are used as race tracks by rush hour traffic. Try the A5104 Pontblyddyn Penyffordd between 7 and 9. Lots of drivers coming dead fast around blind bends 3 foot over the white line. What are NWP and FCC doing about it ? Nothing.
2a There is NO traffic policing after 6 pm and 10 am the following morning. Youth can hammer around until they crash. Cllr Sharps even suggested in The Leader that speeding after dark was ok. They published my protest letter.
3. Flintshire Highways are stuck in a mid 20th century time warp. They are not interested in speeding in Flintshire communities, unless we are taking Northop Hall.
4. Flintshire Highways staff lied to NWP officers over the amount of speeding traffic in Chester Rd., Penyffordd. They hid the data from me then told police it was 5% when it was really 34%. This was minuted at Penyffordd Community Council meeting.
5. Gosafe turn up at 10 am in the morning when the rat run rages between 7 and 9.
Amateurs? or doing what Penyffordd cllrs want.
6. Gosafe / FCC have persistently denied me April 2007 traffic data for Chester Rd. FOIE's mean nothing to them.
The number of speeders each day through the village at that time was about 2000 a day. Of course Penyffordd cllrs are gagging to look at the data not !
7. County Councillors Cindy Hinds and David Williams know speeding goes on
and do nothing.
8. Carl Sargeant AM Minister for Roads knows speeding goes on he will do nothing.
9. Mark Tami MP knows speeding goes on he will do nothing.
10. Neal Cockerton knows speeding goes on he will do nothing.
11. Cllr Arnold Woolley knows speeding goes on he will do nothing.
12. Cllr Tony Sharps Head of Roads knows speeding goes on he will do nothing.
13. Carl Longland Director of Environment knows speeding goes on he will do nothing.
14. Future Flintshire 20 mph zones for communities have very high qualification bars.
Most of the above is about Penyffordd but it happens in lots of places in Flintshire.
The controlling Flintshire group walking the walk but not talking the talk.
Wrexham has loads of controlled speed areas. Flintshire back the speeders.
What will happen? nothing. Lots of you should be out of a job.
But you won't the electorate are too stupid
NWP are reduced to controlling the traffic at fatal accidents , writing reports, dealing with grieving relatives. Stable door policy. As effective as eunuchs at an orgy.
Do Flintshire Highways still have the practice of needing three fatalities in one place before they will do anything?
Flintshire Highways need tearing apart it's full of Jeremy Clarksons.
So have you got that? It's the fault of FCC, NWP, NWPA, our elected representatives and loads of idiots who shouldn't have a license.
What will happen? Nothing. We just have pretend politicians in Flintshire.
best wishes Colin

Gareth Williams of Mold on long standing traffic issues in Mold
On the letters page in The Leader and most probably in The Flintshire Chronicle next week. Gareth gives a full analysis of the issues and finishes off with a suggestion that a traffic survey should be arranged in October.
Would this be a Flintshire County Council traffic survey where all data is given to concerned rate paying residents? This will be something brand new. Traffic data for Chester Rd April 2007 has been consistently denied me with the full knowledge of Penyffordd councillors with the full complicity of Flintshire Gosafe officers, road safety officers and highways officers of FCC
Gareth also mentions 20 mph zones being kicked into the long grass. We couldn't possible have 20 mph zones in Chester Rd anyway now we have returned to trunk road status. 20 cars a minute in the morning cllrs. Just a rat run for through traffic.
I'm going to put a big board saying "Penyffordd Council Rat Run. Speed as fast you like they don't care. "
Perhaps if Gareth gets back in next May he can look at the "can of worms" which is Flintshire Highways dept.
Gareth is a former deputy leader of FCC. I like the cut of his jib.

Crash Central Penyffordd District
FIVE people including a child were treated by paramedics after a two-car collision in Padeswood.
The carnage goes on. Seems its alright with the authorities. It's not alright with those affected. The behaviour considered acceptable by Flintshire Highways and our politicians.

Do we need to get someone killed councillors
before speeding on Chester Rd gets onto the council agenda?
Speeding in Dobshill is on Wednesdays agenda. Would it be because of the recent death of the girl cyclist?
Is there more speeding in Dobshill than Chester Rd? You have no idea have you.
All you have is lies from Gosafe and Flintshire Highways who even lie to North Wales Police over speeding levels in Chester Rd.
Cllr Cindy Hinds finds it very difficult in deed to say there is speeding in Chester Rd on her newsletter. Not sure what Cllr David Williams' newsletter says can never find one.
Five years on cllrs since I was informed by Clerk Nigel that speeding was nothing to do with Penyffordd Community Council and so it remains so. Traffic still hammers through the village every morning. What gives these drivers the right to speed through our community?
Your continued ignoring of speeding in Chester Rd shows you have little interest in the welfare of children, OAP's and residents environment.
You fail to press Gosafe or North Wales Police to take action. Most of you should be gone come the next local elections. Not fit for purpose.
Postscript: As Penyffordd cllrs you continue to shoot yourselves in the foot collectively. My account remains the only on line statement of what happens in Penyffordd. Your future relatives will wonder what you were all playing at. Having a bypass and allowing HGV and through traffic to hammer through the village when ever they want. All named and shamed.
Further postscript: An elderly lady in the post office says she nearly got run over earlier in the week.

Road safety measures
KEEPING children, pedestrians and others safe is a top priority for one council.
No not Penyffordd it's not even on the horizon. A previous attempt to slow traffic down by getting grant money was quietly dropped.
Speeders ignore our lollypop man everyday cllrs.
Penyffordd Council, no vision just a village that's a speedy short cut to everywhere.
It doesn't help having a philistine dept such as Flintshire Highways who are pro speeding and HGV in Penyffordd.
Denbighshire is due to submit an application for Safe Routes in Communities funding for the town.
Safer routes, what are those?

Penyffordd Morning Rat Run
Each workday morning 100's of cars hurl through the middle of the village. They have the full support of all Penyffordd Community and County Councillors, Flintshire County Council. Mark Tami, Carl Sargeant AM Welsh Minister for Transport, Arnold Woolley , Neal Cockerton, Chief Constable Mark Polin and North Wales Police Authority.
Councillors Tom Jones, Colin Bithell, Linda Vidamour, David Williams, Cindy Hinds, Margaret Jones, Stan Davies, Edwina Davies, John Bell, Jane Hopwood.
The above are part of the sickness which leads to death on the roads. No traffic policing or control equals suffering for some.
Next week Penyffordd Community Council will meet as they have for the last five years since the speeding was pointed out to them. I believe it was in the vicinity of 2000 vehicles a day breaking the 30 mph speed limit. The speed data recorded is illegal hidden by Flintshire County Council and Gosafe the unaccountable quango.
The above recorded for future generations.

Dobshill fatal accident further and consequences for Penyffordd children
Alternative Title. Wake up call for Penyffordd Cllrs over village safety.
Quotes below from Cllr David Williams and Cllr Cindy Hinds who has campaigned for local people to have speed limits reduced at Dobshill. Have Penyffordd Community Council ever backed Cindy over this issue?
The facts of the matter is the spot where the girl was knocked down has a very high accident rate. There are accidents at this exact location on a regular basis.
In my campaign for against speeding through the middle of our village ( Penyffordd) I have come across plenty of foot dragging by Penyffordd councillors.
I am looked at as something of an oddball for wanting to live in a village rather than a speedy unpoliced short cut for to Airbus, A55 and Broughton Retail Park. Perhaps this fatality will convince local councillors that village safety is of importance.
Living here I see young children cycling across Chester Rd with no thought for their own safety. At the end of the day Tom there is more than being "seen to do the right thing" you actually have to do it!
You lot have sat there for the last 5 years ignoring speeding through the village for the best part. No pushing of North Wales Police or Gosafe. No pushing for a 20 mph zone through the middle of the village. If you had anything about you you would have demanded data held by Flintshire County Council on speeding through the village. You're function is to prevent accidents rather than quote after events.
It should be noted that Mark Tami MP and Carl Sargeant AM have consistently sat on their hands with regards safety on Chester Rd, Penyffordd. Politics being part of the reason.
The "big picture" Carl is that a good percentage of drivers take no notice of children on bikes, horses or old age pensioners. They make no allowances for them whatsover. As Minister of Transport for the Welsh Assembly Government what are you going to do about it? Flintshire County Council ( Neal Cockerton and Cllr Tony Sharps) are currently doing a large foot dragging exercise over 20 mph zones for Flintshire communities.
One final thought. Cyclists and a percentage of modern drivers are not a good mix the authorities should be banned from encouraging cycling on public highways.

Speed limits to be slashed on Flintshire death roads
in The Daily Post
The question is who will enforce speed limits? North Wales Police and Gosafe have no idea, don't want to have any idea.
NWP have effectively retired from traffic policing but none of the media will report it. ( backed by county cllrs may I add)
We have a rat run every work day morning. There seems to be this god given right that workers can hammer through Chester Rd and many other places in Flintshire.
Why is this? Votes over safety and environment?
The A5104 between Penyffordd and Pontblyddyn is a deadly road. How many deaths do you have to have before Tony appears in the local paper. Flintshire Highways policy with regards dangerous roads needs seriously upgrading and who is going to police the idiots?
Also to be noted that you can't speed in and out of Northop Hall where Cllr Tony Sharps is in charge due to the speed bumps..............
HGV are also banned in Northop Hall where Chester Rd, Penyffordd is now a short cut for A55 Warren Bank.
I get the distinct impression Penyffordd has been shat upon by WAG and FCC over through traffic.
Roll on the local county elections.

Traffic Surveillance Penyffordd Bypass
This camera is situated on Hawarden Rd looking at the section of road where Penyffordd village traffic joins and leaves the bypass. What is its purpose? There is a telephone number on the lampost to ring, I've emailed instead lol.
This is NOT a junction I use in the rush hours and that's before we have 234 extra households on Wood Lane Farm.
I see they do speed surveys. How about an honest one on Chester Rd, councillors?

Safer Routes in Communities
On Wednesday Penyffordd Council at their monthly meeting will discuss correspondence from Flintshire County Council Head of Assets and Transportation Neal Cockerton.
Chester Rd is effectively unpoliced by NWP, we continue to have no effective measures taken by Gosafe, speeding traffic even ignores our new lolly pop man Colin.
Where is Carl Longland, Director of Environment in all this? Does village environment not interest him?
It will be of interest if Chester Rd is mentioned in the correspondence, one does not hold ones breath. 5 plus years on and still traffic hammers through the village every workday morning with increasing numbers including increased HGV because of A55 Warren Bank construction.
We have become one fast convenient short cut due to our geographical position in relation to A55 Warren Bank, Airbus and Broughton Retail Park.
Stuffed by FCC and WAG.

Chester Rd half a rumble strip - quarter measure traffic calming
In September 2007 the above was installed. It is general practice by highways departments to put these rumble strips across both sides of the road. In the above case only traffic coming into the village had " a reminder" that they were entering a community. Some motorists avoided the rumble strip by going over the other side of the road.
This is now going to be put right. Many thanks.
