Dog Stealing News

postcript: Still happening today ( Friday) . A male in a white van approached two lady walkers ( separate incidents ) with dogs, one lady ran in somebody's garden. NWP are aware.

A women walking her dog in Penyffordd ( source Penyffordd FB )  was stopped by a male in a white van yesterday. Registration number given to North Wales Police. One lady resident is frightened to take her dog for a walk.

What are Penyffordd County Cllrs and and Community Cllrs doing about this?

What are local media saying?

Apparently NWP are on the case. But shit show comments say otherwise"Police have warned people not to take the law into their own hands after "unfounded allegations" were spread on social media about alleged dog snatch attempts in Wrexham."https://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/police-respond-reports-alleged-dog-20280993

Instant liason between residents and NWP via Facebook would help.

postscript: The following have been emailed this blog: Daily Post, The Leader, Mark Tami MP, Jack Sargeant MS, Mark Isherwood MS, Cllr David Williams, Cllr Cindy Hinds, Penyffordd  Community Council, North Wales Police.

Dog Thieves

are visiting Penyffordd and surrounding villages and towns.  They usually have a white van, 2 or three of them. They will use violence to separate you from your dogs. They mark the front of houses/gardens so associates know where the dogs are. They can be East European, have a strong Irish accent or Asian. Details and photos are all over local Facebooks. It is happening nationally.

I have a lot to say on this but will end up with a police warning so I'll just leave it as above.

Coronavirus Puzzle II

Text from Welsh Assembly Government Tweet

What does ‘stay local’ mean? We’ve deliberately not defined this because “local” may vary across Wales. We’re asking you to use good judgement. For example, travelling from Cardiff to Porthcawl to exercise on a beach, or Ruthin to Snowdonia to walk – is not staying local.

---------------------------------------------------------------

WTF

Can I travel 8 miles up the road to walk my dog in the middle of nowhere without being persecuted by NWP?

3 weeks more lock down

On top of proactive arrests, dealing with all 999 calls and incidents across the town today, Rota one response officers alone have stopped 344 vehicles since 7 am in order to conduct necessary journey checks in Wrexham Town. #StayHomeSaveLives

This is sheer lunacy from an economic perspective. Suppose Bank England will bail us out if they have any money / borrowings left.

NWP stopping residents leaving village

Apparently NWP are stopping cars leaving the village to question residents about their destination. On whether its essential.

We've got a few dodgy journeys to do over the weekend. It involves making money to pay our council tax and keep NWP on the road. We have a cunning plan using the lanes. Have you ever been to Golly?

No Entry at the top of Penymynydd Rd

HGC De Sir Fflint / NWP South Flintshire
Word of warning, as of the 13th December the ‘Fail to comply with No Entry Sign’ offence has reverted back to an endorsable offence under section 36 of the RTA.

This means 3 points on your driving licence or to put it another way caught 4 times means you lose your licence.
Police still get reports from Penymynydd Road about people entering the No Entry sign near the school so be aware.

Well Done North Wales Police ! Stolen goods recovered

Mavis Evans says on Facebook "Thought you'd like to know that all of the Christmas presents stolen from one car have now been returned to their rightful owner, so there'll be happy children this Christmas"

Polling Day

Two candidates to vote for.

1. Your representative to the Welsh Assembly.

2. A new North Wales Police Commissioner.

I hope the new commissioner will be better than the current incumbent.

postscript: I talk pants. There were three candidates to vote for on 3 separate papers.
Also a first and second place for Police Commissioner.

The one I missed was for the Regional Candidate.
That's the one not many people know about.
I'd give you a link but a candidate list seems hard to find on the google.
Perhaps an irrelevance?

As is the EU?

We shall see.

If you are going to protest about something.

You should know about this below which is totally wrong.
Not sure why we have a police commissioner, he's backing it.
We need someone to protect us from the police commissioner.

http://www.dailypost.co.uk/news/north-wales-news/police-chiefs-defend-snooping-your-11266662

postscript: Perhaps I should qualify further. If you protest or are a pain in the butt about something it may involve a community council, a county council, a police force, a political party whatever.

Discrediting individuals who make a stand or whistle blowers is  the way to go.

I know one person who lives in this village who got stopped 4 times in two weeks for breathyliser checks. His crime? Appearing before an enquiry criticising N Wales Police.

Mobile phones and computers are the perfect gift for those in power that abuse power.

Penyffordd Crime Data

Minuted in the July meeting 2015 of Penyffordd Community Council.

81. Police Report As PCSO Mat Gordon was unable to attend the meeting he provided the following report to the Clerk.

20/6/2015 – ASB – verbal abuse given to a man after leaving the PYF carnival, turned out to be a long standing dispute. It is being dealt with.

21/06/2015 – ASB – Youths have thrown items at a window on Corwen Road.

27/06/2015 – Fire – Youths/Kids have been setting small fires in the grass near Emmanuel Church. Arson reduction team have been made aware and we are working toward an action plan, as there have been 3 similar incidents this month.

27/06/2015 – ASB – Park near Millstone, two younger children have been threatened by older children on the park.

27/06/2015 – ASB – Similar to above, kids using aerosol cans and lighters to set paper alight in the park.

06/07/2015 – ASB – Group of youths drinking alcohol near Towers Way.
08/07/2015 – Bike stolen from a shed on Hazel Drive

13/07/2015 – As you will be aware, 3 reports of damage to sheds on the allotments. Drug Paraphernalia has also been found near the benches which were moved in the area – I have spoken with youths from the youth club and they are adamant that this is older youths who do not attend the club. I have added the info to our officer briefing sheet which is viewed every shift by every officer prior to going out. Hopefully this will get a few more to pop in and have a look, but with staffing levels very low at present this may not be too likely as we’re all being pulled from pillar to post at the moment. As you can see there has been a rise in the ASB in the area, specifically in the area of the park. I’m going to speak to the inspector once I return from annual leave and will see if we can have a curfew put on the area. We do normally have a rise at this time of year due to schools finishing.

Traffic News

North Wales Police are holding high profile attendance in Penymynydd Rd, a major route to school. There must have been complaints of speeding over the speed bumps outside the school which has an advisory 20mph limit.

On Chester Rd, drivers are driving too slow for some. Drivers have been seen overtaking 4 cars on the bumps up towards Broughton.

Again an issue on why some drivers should have licenses.

I should point out that some drivers take the fixed speed bump at about 40mph.

Pro active policing in Penyffordd

A letter pops through the door from PC Hazel Goss MBE who is a Crime Prevention Officer at County Hall, Mold.
Hazel tells me there is increased crime involving the theft of motorcycles throughout Flintshire and Wrexham.

My brother's son who lives in London parked his motorbike behind my car on a few occasions last week. We were perhaps being a little lazy and should have made sure the bike was in front of the car and not behind in view from the main road.

It was wheel locked and alarmed, perhaps this isn't enough to stop theft.

Many thanks NWP for the heads up.
