Travellers spotted in Penyffordd

Travellers are currently staying in Mold
http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/165669/traders-slam-travellers-for-moving-in-on-car-park-in-mold.aspx

Villagers have spotted two white pick ups near the Institute field. Children were seen coming off the field then getting into white pickups.

An emergency stop for toilet duties?
Or a fishing trip for a new site to temporarily reside?

The current open gate policy at the Institute may need to be modified.
Maybe very quickly.
This of course will be a PIA for the village residents with regards use of our facility.

Cindy and David are on the case.
Its about time certain actions are no longer tolerated.
Does Brexit give us the option?

Our national political leaders continue to fail us.

Cllr David Williams - Email communication re proposed 190 Redrow houses

Email to Trish Sanderson - Penyffordd and Penymyndd Facebook page

This is the latest email from David Williams.

Hello All,

Just making contact as agreed where hopefully Ken can get the subgroup organised and we can branch out information as it comes to us.

I have been told that messages have gone out on facebook complaining that the meeting was not publicised well enough, and maybe there is a point in that, but I would hope that it can be understood that Friday was a starting point for more meetings as word gets around. I have also been told that there is a meeting to be held again on Monday, so if anybody can enlighten me further, I will happily attend, as will Cindy.

I have also attached copies of the plans Redrow have sent me, and I have also been sent details of the application that is on Flintshires site where I have copied the link below. No formal notice has been sent out to me as yet, but as soon as I get any more information I will send it on to you.

https://digital.flintshire.gov.uk/FCC_Planning/Home/Details…

I hope this helps for now and thanks for the support and special thanks to Ken for organising the sub group.

Regards,
David W

David the Hedge

Cllr Williams back on the hedge cutting today with volunteers saving Penyffordd rate payers money.

All we need now is some CCTV for the allotments.

And a set of stocks near the village clock  to put any perpetrators damaging property

Penyffordd Cllr rolls up his sleeves

Cllr David Williams and friends have been lowering the hedge at the children's play area next to the Millstone. Apparently David didn't like the size of the quote to cut the hedge. So David and friends have done it for free for the village. Good to see.

postscript: It also looked as if Cllr Stan Davies was repairing seats at the village clock.

Loosing County Councillors

For those who may not know, we have two representatives at Flintshire County Council.
Cllrs Cindy Hinds and David Williams.

I seem to remember reading that because we have extra housing we would get a third.

Now I read the following...........

Open Council Meetings

79. Open Meeting/Public Questions Cllr Williams brought to the table the option of having either an Open Meeting or Public Questions. The Council discussed a number of various options. IT WAS RESOLVED the Council will consider these options and this item will be included on September’s Agenda.
----------------------------------------------

The above was in the July minutes. This indeed a good idea. Perhaps David, the council could go one step further and video meeting live and recorded on the council website. Instead of attending a two hour omnibus, one could sit in the comfort of one's own home sipping a glass of red. One could even fast forward to the more interesting bits.

A first for a Flintshire town or village council!

I should mention that currently anyone can attend a council meeting unless they are having a secret session. You are not allowed to speak or interrupt unless asked.

Arbitary Removal of Sunday Bus Service

Someone brought up the headline subject on a comment.

I'm sure Penyffordd district residents will be waiting for Penyffordd Cllrs to tackle the bus companies on this.

No Spar shop and no buses? Perhaps residents will have to use taxis to get to Buckley or Broughton to get a bottle of wine and a few quavers?

Cllr David Walker said "This is not an impending lack of a Sunday bus service this has actually happened and as far as I am aware without any notification."

Penyffordd Community Council Minutes March 2015 Extract regarding Penyffordd LDP

You know I can go a week without finding anything Penyffordd to write about then.......
My problem being I rarely look at the Penyffordd Council site due to issues over the last 3 years on how its being managed.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
145. Flintshire Local Development Plan – Candidate Sites Cllr Williams circulated an email on 3rd March with an A4 map detailing candidate sites for the LDP. He and the Clerk had also received a pack including an outlined map of each individual candidate site. Cllr Williams advised that FCC have asked for views of elected members by 20 April 2015.

Due to the short timescale of receiving the information it was resolved for the Cllrs to consider the sites and be carried forward for discussion on next month’s agenda. Cllr Williams will contact Andy Roberts to request a digital copy of the pack to enable him to email to all other Cllrs.

Housing Survey introduced by Cllr David Williams and my thoughts

Apols for the wonkiness of the scan. This is Hewlett Packard's attempt at intelligent automatic cropping.
If you have an opinion on this place it in comments or write to David on dwillderw@yahoo.co.uk
I agree with David on this issue.

Can I expect to get pensioner accomodation?..................................................lol
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My thoughts are do we wish to become a Broughton, or a Buckley?
I think the village is large enough, there is no need for us to become part of an urban sprawl from Saltney to Mold.

It's time to discourage population expansion. More people equals more trouble. Time to pay people not to breed. Time to stop payments for breeding.
Time to control immigration.
Time for our government to start governing.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The survey is here. A Wrexham B.C. and Flintshire County Council initiative
https://www.keysurvey.co.uk/votingmodule/s180/f/693110/78c6/

I've tried filling in the form online but I've fell at the first fence. I'm a bit short of an ID number.

Apparently you can fill the form in by just putting in your Post Code, no need for an ID number..............................

"This is the on-line version of the 2014 Wrexham Council and Flintshire Council Local Housing Survey. Please work your way through the survey and select the answers that apply to you or to members of your household. Your answers are STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL and are protected under the 1998 Data Protection Act which places very stringent conditions on the use of the data. We appreciate that some questions are sensitive but it is not possible for the Council to link responses to individual addresses. Research is being undertaken by arc4 Ltd on behalf of the two Councils. Please type in the ID number printed on the front sheet of your questionnaire (this appears as a number with up to 5 digits (WHOLE NUMBERS) and allows us to match responses to neighbourhood only). Alternatively please insert your full Postcode (e.g. LA11 1AY Capitals and middle space). Thank you."

The form appears to be for those near retirement age. There are over 40 questions mainly click answers. Hopefully not looking for help in the next 10 years myself lol..........................

Allotment News Part 44

Penyffordd Community Council meeting is this coming Wednesday. Not too many items on the agenda.

One item is Cllr David Williams' attempt to form a second set of allotments in the village.
This has been ongoing for two years. What's gone on you really couldn't make up.
postcript: people changing minds etc.

PACA is a fund raising group who run the original allotment  that was gifted by a fine individual.

After reading the council agenda I was going in the direction of the planned second allotment so I went for a nose.

What is the progress? A field full of hay! Not an allotment in sight.

I'll report back after minutes have been ratified in a months time. Democracy at the speed of light.

Is the Penyffordd Community Council website showing council minutes and agenda yet?
Just had a peek, still nothing happening.
http://penyfforddareacc.com/news-events/meeting-minutes/87-minutes-agendas.html

ps. I have to admit to not paying attention to PCC meetings these last few months so there may be developments I'm not aware of. I'm sure all will be revealed in the fullness of time.

Cllr David Williams using Penyffordd Community Council Website to voice his own opinions

But can't manage agendas or minutes.

http://penyfforddareacc.com/news-events/meeting-minutes/61-meeting-27-03-2013.html#section-kmt

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello Readers and critics, sorry for not getting this sorted yet, the next meeting is in September so with a bit of luck minutes and agendas will be in place by then. I am taking the Latin out of this one but will leave it in on some of the other articles for our continental readers.
Really, this is just another practice which is all helping.
Sorry again for not being as efficient or switched on to these things as we all would like, but would anybody trust our local blogger to administer such an important site!

Political Grouping Flintshire County Council - Cllr David Williams

This may be old news but I was unaware that Cllr David Williams was a member of the New Independents. A political group formed by Cllr Patrick Heesom. I see the FCC pin up girl the fragrant Cllr Carolyn Thomas is Deputy Leader of the group.

postscript, Carolyn is also Chair of Flintshire County Council

An email from Cllr David Williams

To myself and Cllr Clive Weed. This is something a little unusual. I was under the impression I was down as "don't bother with, he's an idiot, he's only one vote"

But wait.............

20 mph Speed Limits within the village

Cllrs Clive Weed and David Williams have raised the issue of 20 mph limit zones within the village. This is most welcome especially near schools. Nigel is writing to FCC to clarify recent press statements regarding 20 mph limits in Flintshire.

Improving Penyffordd environment I think of large importance. We should be a village with a bypass and not a huge short cut for lorries and cars. Traffic calming now being constructed will help.

Chester Rd Traffic Calming News

The contract firm are outside with plans. Kerb stone altering to start shortly. ( I asked )

Cllr David Williams sent me an email last week about the new Penyffordd Community website which I duly advertised on here and will put up a permanent banner shortly.

I in return asked David when Chester Rd traffic calming was starting.

As half  expected no reply.

Your behaviour David unacceptable as a village representative.
You may think you are being smart and clever but people with any intelligence see right  through you.

As a school teacher you have to deal with children but fail to
separate your actions and thinking when dealing with adults.

You lost a lot of votes last election. Some of which may be put down to electorate sentiment.
Many voters however saw your short comings.

Time to up your game and behave in a proper manner as a representative of  Penyffordd?
