One of the attractions of Penyffordd plus WAG Opt Out Organ Rant

The ambulance should get to you inside 5 minutes as the new base is at Dobshill.
We could discuss the Keystone Cops act carried out on my late mother in law but lets not spoil things.

Cllr Colin Bithell for Hawarden Airport Expansion

in The Leader

There will be plenty  more like Colin who wish to turn our environment into a crap hole.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regional Airport Searches

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/uknews/road-and-rail-transport/8977992/Local-airports-to-double-their-capacity-in-next-40-years.html

"A spokesman for the Campaign to Protect Rural England added: “It is not just that airport expansion of this scale would trample over villages and sprawl across Green Belts. All the extra flight paths needed would criss-cross the countryside so much that by 2050, trying to find tranquillity in much of the English countryside could become as hard as looking for a needle in a haystack.”

Local Blackspot claims another life

Link http://www.leaderlive.co.uk/news/116979/pregnant-woman-dies-in-horror-collision-on-a541.aspx

Condolences to the deceased's family.

My view is that accident blackspots such as this should be made compulsory 30 or even 20 mph and rigorously enforced.

Whilst not wishing to pre-empt any investigation it should be noted that all the usual elements are in place.

The Pontblyddyn to Penyffordd road is also a constant accident issue. You would not believe the number of vehicle drivers who go well over white lines on blind bends.

The authorities seem content to allow it to continue.

Penyffordd Train Chaos

TRAINS have been halted after a lorry struck a railway bridge.
The incident happened shortly after 3pm when the heavy goods vehicle hit the bridge on Penyffordd Road, Penyffordd.
A spokesman for Arriva Trains Wales said engineers were enroute to assess the damage to the bridge.
The 3.32pm train from Wrexham to Bidston is currently stopped at Penyffordd Station, while the 15.32 Bidston to Wrexham service is stopped at Shotton Station while checks are carried out.
Delays of up to 60 minutes are expected.

Super Tony to the rescue

It wasn't so long ago Flintshire councillors were griping over out of ward interference by Cllr Klaus Armstrong Braun.

These rules of course are for Klaus only. Big beasts such as Cllr Bernie Attridge and Cllr Tony Sharps operate across Flintshire with impunity.

Super Tony has waded into the proposed gypsy site at Ewloe. Is this a fight against officers or are we getting near an election?

Read further in The Flintshire Leader

Tony's the one who thinks cars can hammer around Flintshire excluding Northop Hall where he is councillor.

Speeding ad nauseum..................

The last word on this issue for a few weeks (I also tell fibs)

1. Top of Penymynydd Rd Penymynydd Access Only. Short cutters have been booked.
This is long and ongoing. I had a mate get booked here 30 years ago.
Will White Lion development put a stop to this? White Lion development of course will have severe traffic calming and rat run?

2. Outside the White Lion ( now deceased) Apparently 40 drivers have been booked for speeding. ( its very near a school, very dangerous.)

3. Thank you to The Flintshire Leader for publishing my letter last Friday. The contents that are on another machine will appear shortly.

The Leader comments system is a joke

I had two comments removed by someone yesterday. Anyone can remove comments. The comments were criticising NWP over token traffic policing that makes it look like they are doing something when in reality they are doing very little.

How many comments are reinstated? I think very few.

Half the comments could be removed because they are written by muppets.

A Letter The Leader will NOT consider

The excuse a matter of semantics. They had the decency to say so though.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hi Leader
I see you are currently not allowing comments on cancer rates shock.

Shall I try a letter?
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With regards your front page headline "Cancer Rates Shock for Villages". It's interesting to note that you report that Llanfynydd which is miles away over Hope Mountain has a perceived higher rate for respiratory and cancer incidents over the normal national rates for Penyffordd which is half a mile down wind from the main stack which has a population many times that of Llanfynydd.
This would suggest a clean bill of health with regards Hanson Cement and the so called increased risks to health for Penyffordd, Padeswood and Buckley residents.
You also report in the above article that noise is an issue emanating from Hanson Cement for Penyffordd. Speeding traffic 24/7 on Penyffordd By Pass poor road surface and through unpoliced village centre traffic make an awful lot more noise than Hanson Cement. It would be good to see Penyffordd elected representatives concentrating on matters closer to home such as child and OAP safety and village environment.
Environment means more than planting daffodils cllrs !

postscript: I've spoken to someone about the statistics produced and they say the statistics are of little use because of what the statistics are and also not compared with.

The Compost Heap

Today I have been moving the compost heaps I have. I'm very rich I have four. The compost heap is the heart of fertility in the vegetable garden. Problem is they are all in the wrong place.

There's a resident of Cymau in The Leader. He found an adder (poisonous) with young in his compost bin. I have been taking things carefully. I have a friend who has grass snakes (non poisonous) in his compost heap. You draw the carpet back and they dive back down the holes in the compost.
