This afternoon I have had a visit from Howie. The first part of our meeting was the discussion of an irate email I sent to a firm over my perception of their drivers behaviour in our village last week. I admitted to the wrongness of words.
I have apologised to the firm concerned with a copy to those on the original email list.
We also discussed June 2008 Chester Rd traffic speed data that Howie was given by another agency and which Howie used in his report to Penyffordd Community Council.
Since I was given after numerous requests (inc a meeting in Cllr Woolley's office) a crippled redacted copy of the data Howie was quoting from I knew what he was saying was wrong.
My blog will be edited to reflect this.
I have agreed that my actions are a negative and will not get any where.
My aim is a village centre where traffic cannot hammer through at any time of the day or night. An HGV free village except for access. Civilised streets, we have a bypass.
I have previously told Council Leader Arnold Woolley that I believe Flintshire County Council are being highly selfish by using Chester Rd to support the Flintshire trunk road system.
The new A55 Warren Bank exits adding to the problem as thought.
I hope my elected representatives see my vision as worthwhile where OAP's can walk across the road and school children can bicycle to school through the middle of our village, a compulsory 20 mph.
What's good enough for Rossett is good enough for us.
Come the next local elections I will stand for county and community council if I see no improvement.
I have little confidence in Flintshire Highways as I see them as anti community, anti road calming and pro vehicle, we shall see.
Other discussions included Howie's new role in NWP. From now on he will cover an area from Saltney to Denbighshire I think its called Flintshire.
I couldn't understand why all the traffic was doing 30 mph whilst I talked to Howie. A quick look up the street saw the answer Howie's police car..............
I wish to thank Howie for the visit and talk.

Baked Bean Crime
I kid you not.....................
A can of beans ( Heinz) thrown all over a car in the row.
I put the can in the bin, couldn't work out what a can of beans open quarter full was doing in my drive.
Now I know why..............but not if you know what I mean.
Reported to Howie.

North Wales Police need to do better
In the council meeting Cllr David Williams mentioned during the item on Police Liason that vandalism which he had reported in the previous week had resulted in no communication from NWP.
Nothing new there then.....................
postscript: It was pointed out that Howie rarely attended council meetings.

Driver attitudes
This morning I have had a driver shake his fist at me because I had the temerity to point at him speeding. This of course is the same attitude as drivers getting mad at funeral traffic slowing them down. This scumbag behaviour needs stamping on. Our CBM Howie Williams on strike won't do the speeding rat run. This with councillor approval?

Changes at N Wales Police for Penyffordd
I am told that Chief Superintendent Ruth Purdie who was in charge of South Flintshire of which Penyffordd is part of has left. Our CBM Howie Williams has extra areas to cover including Leeswood and Treuddyn.

A visit to Utopia away from the damp and the cold
Lord Howe Island where everyone knows everyone and everyone says hello to one another. They can ditch the compulsory cycle helmets though. A good job for Howie.

Remembrance Sunday 2010
Penyffordd and district remember those who have fallen in the wars. The weather cool with rain. Those present that I recognize. Cllr Cindy Hinds, Cllr David Williams, Arthur Arnold, John Martin and wife, Tony and Decima Hodge, CBM Howie Williams on duty with his military service medals on full display. Also in attendance former Penyffordd CBM Ian Millington in the leading police car..

The Persistence of Penyffordd Community Council
Yes you are reading correctly. Penymynydd Rd, Penymynydd has an access only section at the top. This is because it is a major route to St John's junior school at the top.
It has no pavements as it is too narrow, it is unsuitable for traffic.
How many years have PCC pressed NWP to enforce the access only ?
1 year
5 years
10 years
Still CBM Howie Williams refuses to book people who take short cuts from Wellhouse. In the Council Minutes for September Howie still comes up with excuses on why he will not do his job.
One suggestion. Get Mervyn to deliver a letter to the Wellhouse ,Tate and Green Park estates saying as from a certain date ALL non access only traffic will be booked. It will cost a few bob but its fair.

Thank you to Cllr Linda Vidamour
I read in the Penyffordd Council minutes for September that Linda (Chairman) had pressed CBM Howie Williams to do traffic policing in Chester Rd. A councillor with some grit. We need more of those.
It would be fair to say I could not have written the letter that appeared in The Flintshire Chronicle if I had known the above. That's where Penyffordd Community Council are constantly stupid. If residents such as me are given information we cannot complain.
You get fed up of looking in the draw at the Penyffordd Post Office for the minutes. If they were online that would be good but we can't have residents having information at hand, it's made as difficult as possible.

Carl Sargeant AM calls for action on speeding drivers in Higher Kinnerton
here in The Flintshire Leader
and here in Penyffordd there is no interest in the safety of school children or OAP's or village environment. CBM Howie Williams is on strike supported by Chief Superintendent Ruth Purdie, Inspector Martin Best and Penyffordd Cllrs.
Would a councillor wish to comment on why they will not press NWP to do their job? We are currently spending £300 a month on a traffic warden. It's a little known fact that speeding cars kill more people than stationary ones.
Or perhaps a statement to say that they are happy with 1800 speeders a day which was the last count by Flintshire County Council.

Penyffordd Community Council meeting tonight
So are PCC backing Chester Rd for traffic policing or siding with North Wales Police not to traffic police Chester Rd?
Putting village residents lives in danger on a major route to school.
700 speeders doing 31 to 76 mph each day at the last count in June 2008 measured by Flintshire County Council.

Penyffordd Community Council meeting on Wednesday
I asked Nigel (GNI) the clerk if speeding was on the agenda, he said no. There was however the last meeting where Howie our invisible CBM was asked to come to Chester Rd as a police presence. Has he done what the PCC asked or has he done what he normally does, ie nothing.
The thing is as a modern CBM you can't go upsetting the locals by stopping them speeding through the village. Child safety and resident environment takes second or fifth place. I presume the council meeting agenda will be hidden behind the glass case so you can't read the agenda. Messsage from PCC to the residents FU.
And still the speeding goes on in Chester Rd. In other parts of Flintshire Cllr Colin Legg, Cllr Chris Jones and Cllr Ted Evans are on the case with regards speeding in communites.

Speeding traffic rears its head again
In The Flintshire Chronicle (dead tree edition only)
Flint Mountain are up in arms. Similar to Chester Rd but times 20. They are asking for a camera. They are doing a speed survey. I am thinking of warning the county cllr Ted Evans about tricks played to down play speeding by Flintshire officers and N Wales Police.
Rhosesmor residents are also complaining about speeding near the school. Meanwhile Penyffordd Community Council conspire with CBM Howie Williams to do nothing about speeding in Chester Rd, Penyffordd. Penyffordd Junior school shows no interest as do the school governors. Cllr Colin Bithell seems very concerned on the issue of children and Hanson Cement but continues to completely ignore speeding traffic through our village centre.
postcript. I am wrong Gosafe have been seen in Chester Rd. Howie appears to be the stumbling block. PCC tell him to do traffic policing and he drags his heels. Or perhaps Howie arranged Gosafe. Anyway no one tells residents in Chester Rd what is happening.
FCC also drag their heels on work required.

No Policing changes for Chester Rd.
Theresa May scraps Labour police beat pledge
Home secretary warns attempt to set national minimum policing standard is unsustainable in face of big budget cuts.
Since NWP will not traffic police Chester Rd there will be no change here.

Diversity champion takes on North Wales Police Authority role
NWPA to become more politically correct. Never mind such basic policing as speeding in communities. 700 speeders a day in Penyffordd at the last count.
No traffic policing. Are communities going to be treated lower than minority groups? I think so.

Penyffordd Community Council June 2010 next Wednesday
The Prologue
CBM Howie Williams told Penyffordd Community Council that speeding over 30 mph in Chester Rd in June 2008 was 5 %, not much to worry about. Nigel the Clerk minuted this.
Is this a deliberate lie by a police officer or has Nigel made an error with the minutes?
Will Penyffordd Community Council sell Chester Rd down the river? There is an extreme reluctance for Penyffordd Cllrs to push NWP to do their duty for Chester Rd.

Penyffordd News
It's raining.
It's cold.
The rat run has gone to work.
No police in sight.
Howie away on a course or still in bed.
When was Howie last seen not in his car. ie walking, perambulating...............
All eyes are on the LibDem Lab / LibDem Con coalitions.
I personally like the Lib Dem £10,000 minimum tax codes.........................
Meanwhile elsewhere the solids are going to hit the fan big style. The EU is collapsing.

Penyffordd Community Council May 2010
I spoke to ( GNI) Nigel Jones yesterday from afar. Looked like he was putting the council agenda on the council notice board. I said it looked like Cllr Tom Jones has returned to being a Conservative with him having Will's placard in his hedge.
As usual I suppose most of the council agenda will be hidden behind the first page.
Will the fact that CBM Howie Williams misled PCC be mentioned?

Does CBM Howie Williams take 80 minutes
to fill in his holiday request forms? Perhaps that's why we in Chester Rd can't have any traffic policing.
Link MailonLine
This paperwork regime is a farce. I think this is something Howie would agree with too. Any data published by police forces or government is immediately suspicious as they have been caught out so many times slanting the statistics to their own agenda.
