Do you want to loose Cllr Cindy Hinds or Cllr David Williams?

I mean in a councillor sort of way.
David has put the following on Penyffordd Council Notice Board. It doesn't look like an official missive from the Penyffordd Community Council more a David type thing. I've copied it in full as its been put on the index page which means it will not be there for too long. Anyway best not to upset David he might have some cunning plan to stop speeding through Chester Rd.

Notice Board

Losing Your Local Councillors!

The Wise men of Cardiff have decided that Pen-y-ffordd People could be represented by Hawarden, Mancot or Higher Kinnerton Councillors!

You may not have needed your local Councillor yet, but there may come a time when you do, so do you think that you would get the personal assistance you need from somebody from outside the Village?

Under proposals from South Wales the Villages of Pen-y-ffordd, Penymynydd, Dobshill, Hawarden Mancot and Kinnerton are to be joined as one Council Ward.

This means that your local councillor may come from Hawarden, Kinnerton or Mancot!

If you think this is yet another stupid proposal from Cardiff, and think there is a need to keep a County Councillors who lives in Pen-y-ffordd, Penymynydd or Dobshill, add your signature to the petition in all shops in the village and/or write to:

Out the back and around the front

Rain much needed today and for the next week. Out the back frogs looking for mates in the pond. I can see where the wren is building its nest. I spend my time down the far end of the garden where it can be peaceful. Out the front traffic hammers passed on our route to school.
Standing for county council one would expect to have a person with vision for environment and village safety. A 200 vehicle daily rat run can't even make it to county councillor's report.
CBM Howie Jones is constantly let off the hook with regards traffic policing.

A village where few care, just a speedy short cut to Airbus and Broughton Retail Park. It's ok we have the environment sorted we have planted the daffodils.

Chester Rd accident

cc Chief Constable Mark Polin

Your child or grandchild smashed against the wall? School children walk past
this point every school day.

Three years on and much foot dragging. A major route to school with over a 1000 speeding cars each day. Arrive Alive will go anywhere except Chester Rd Penyffordd.

I saw Hugh Jones Road Safety Officer for Flintshire County Council in Coed Talon doing speed checks next to a gatso speed camera today. You couldn't make it up.

Meanwhile Penyffordd Councillors (average age 68 and half) , Flintshire County Council and North Wales Police sit on their hands placing children's lives at risk in Chester Rd Penyffordd.

A 1000+ speeders a day councillors.

A request to Penyffordd Councillors

To: Cllr Cindy Hinds, Cllr David Williams, Cllr Linda Vidamour

Dear Penyffordd Councillors,
I understand that there is the Penyffordd Neighbourhood Forum at the Legion at 6.00 pm Wednesday evening. There is a notice in the Spar but not the Post Office.
Unfortunately I cannot attend.
As elected representatives of Penyffordd will you ask North Wales Police what they intend to do about 1000+ speeders each day through Chester Rd Penyffordd which is also a major route to school.
Can you also ask that the problem be added to North Wales Police's website whilst the issue is ongoing..
Speeding through communities is anti social behaviour.
As you are aware Flintshire County Council hold the relevant speed data which they refuse to release.
An example of wholesale anti social behaviour is the morning rat run 7.30 am to 9.00am weekdays.

Postscript. Cllr Cindy Hinds replies within 8 hours by email. Cllr Linda Vidamour will also respond. Cllr David Williams will not he ignores his councillor code of conduct.

Overton Village gets serious about speeding

It's taken the death of a poor little boy to do it. Meanwhile Penyffordd sleeps on.. ...........
Link The Daily Post

What's Cllr David Williams doing about our speeding of over a 1000 vehicles a day?
Building a village website and wanting to titivate roundabouts that's what.

Penyffordd Community Council Website

Penyffordd and District Community Council now has its own official website. I think Cllr David Williams has brought it all together. The front page looks pleasing with a photo montage at the top. Progress into the 21st century. It will be interesting how long it takes for it to appear on Google searches.
It took me 9 months to get Lisa's commercial site to be indexed on Google. To get onto the first page of a Google search is a very large task. Internet firms will pay £100's of thousands to get to the top of the first page. So there has been great cheating by "black hat programmers" to get certain webpages to the top. Google's search algorithm is one of the best kept secrets in the world.
Lets see how long the website takes to be seen by Google.

Just to be little there is a spelling mistake on the first page.

It says I can advertise on the site. Since David does not even answer my email's I think this will prove difficult.

My website is free, easy to use with the likes of Cllrs Linda Vidamour or Cllrs Cindy Hinds or David being able to put stuff on every day where the Penyffordd Community Council's new site although prettier than mine will cost money on a monthly basis ad infinitum (might be wrong we shall see) . Updating the site will have to be done by a programmer of html.

I did offer to do one for free and turn it over to the Penyffordd Community Council..................

I thought I'd have a look at prices for the website but the owners are just setting up although they do say they are carbon neutral. I find this hard to believe given all the waffle (most probably wrong on that bit) they manage to put on the main page. It looks like Penyffordd Community Council is their first customer. (wrong see below)
Good luck SequentialDesigns.

Second time in 14 days I jump to conclusions that are not correct
Paul Grant is owner of Sequential Designs. Paul has done work for many companies.

Paul says " we have designed websites for many companies and also been responsible for several of the graphics seen at the Wimbledon Championships 2008 as well as many LTA events, see http://www.crosssports.co.uk for one of our latest websites, if you look in its gallery of wimbledon you will see the graphic design dotted around the Wimbledon grounds we completed last year - just one example of a recent client of ours."

Paul is doing the website as a favour for Cllr David Williams.

Double Standards at Flintshire County Council

cc: Arnold Woolley Council Leader; Cllr Cindy Hinds ; Mark Isherwood AM ; Carl Langland ; Oldfield, Alun (A/Insp 1371; North Wales Police, Chief Superintendent Ruth Purdie; AM Sargeant, Carl ; Mark Tami MP; Cllr Linda Vidamour ; Cllr David Williams.

Hi Leader . A letter for consideration.
Re Speed Humps plan to halt dangerous drag racing.
I read in The Leader that Flintshire County Council's Director of Environment Carl Longland is considering speed humps to stop illegal drag racing where vehicles compete over a fixed distance in Deeside and Flint. Here in Penyffordd we have rat runners who hurl through Chester Rd each morning by the 100 on a major route to school. At weekends we have motorcyclists doing 140 mph along Penyffordd By Pass which due to illegal exhausts can be heard for miles. Cllr Tony Sharps Head of Roads meanwhile sits behind 20 mph humps in his village of Northop Hall.
Are double standards being applied here? Northop Hall all tied down and Chester Rd Penyffordd a major route to school as open as the A55.
The constant refrain is we have no money but Carl Longland manages to find money for roads that are not centres of communities at the drop of a hat.

Link The Daily Post

I'd put the Leader link down but can't find it. The Daily Post and Chester Chronicle ignore any letters I send. Perhaps the letters aren't good enough. lol

Postscript. Cllr Tony Sharps in Friday's Leader says the money needing to be spent could have been put towards better use on safety in other parts of the county. Quite right Tony.

Wrong priorities - child safety relegated below pathwork

cc Chief Superintendent Ruth Purdie and Inspector Alun Oldfield.

I tend to stay away from the road. I live in the back of the house and spend most of the day in my greenhouse which is an extra 75 yds from Chester Rd. I understand CBM Chris Pullen has deigned to visit Chester Rd and opines that there isn't much speeding traffic.
Today I have decided I have had enough of some mature leylandii so I have been around the front of the house loading cuttings into the car. Traffic continues to hammer through the village every minute or two. Why should it not? We have no speed camera, Arrive Alive have given up, CBM Chris Pullen has no interest what so ever in speeding the road is wide open with no traffic calming. I'm sure over a 1000+ speeding vehicles each day will not even reach the pages of his next village audit.

This portion edited out.

FCC seem fine adding to Penyffordd pathways but have no interest in child safety.

Village safety appears to have been forgotten......................

Community Policing a sham....................................

North Wales Police currently refuse to back an HGV ban even though we have a bypass.

Flintshire County Council refuse to cough up the speeding traffic data allowing agencies to sit on their hands.

Will Peter J Evans of Flintshire County Council Scrutiny do his work properly or will he side with the agencies of Flintshire County Council, North Wales Police and Arrive Alive who conspire to do nothing thereby endangering Penyffordd children and OAP's? Our village environment trashed everyday by unwanted speeders by the 1000.

Lord of the Manor?

About 2 weeks ago I wrote an email to County Councillor David Williams asking him about his efforts in stopping over a 1000 vehicles speeding through the village everyday.
He has of course ignored my email.

Is their grounds over his conduct?
Perhaps.
David thinks he can do what he likes.
He forgets he signed up to work for us.

Thank you to Cllr David Williams

and the Leader for allowing this letter the light of day.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Dear Leader
A letter for possible insertion.
Cllr David Williams of Penyffordd is to be congratulated on educating Leader readers on the voting system for school governors. Whilst I do not speak for Cllr Cindy Hinds I'm sure Cindy would look favourably on David and herself having one pick each for governors rather than the two "Independents" that Cllr David Williams is currently pushing for.
Cllr Williams say my digs are predictable. I think not, I have had letters published on over 10 different topics.
My other point with regards so called " Independents". Flintshire County Councillor prospective Independents stand then if elected vote for leaders etc of their own group.
At Penyffordd Community Council level we do it the other way around. The local big "Independent" persuades the sick, the old aged, those not interested, etc to stand as a block vote of 10 out of the 12 seats. Nothing is required by most except a photograph and perhaps turn up on the day to vote. My wife Lisa and I produced our own leaflets at a cost of £150 and walked around 1500 houses and managed to get half of the Independent block vote in last May's elections. Some readers may think my complaining is just "sour grapes" others may come to the conclusion like myself that there is something rotten in a political system that encourages the moribund to stand at no effort at all.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One of course can't say everything one wants to say to get a letter published. Economies have to be made to increase the likelihood of publications.
1. Lisa walked for 4 days with a swollen ankle to deliver leaflets
2. David in his previous letter purveys the image that all councillors work together for the good of the village. This did not come shining through when Cllr Colin Bithell and Cllr Joe Bell decided to question planning for the Multi User Games Area AFTER they had given the nod for its approval adding an extra layer of agro that was not needed.
