Horse Flies

Not something I came across as a young man even though I spent most of my time in fields and woodland. Times change. 5 attempted bites in the last week. After you've had a few bites you try to avoid them They itch for days.

Penyffordd Community Council meeting tonight at 6.30 pm

On the agenda yellow lines. It will be interesting if any accommodation has been reached regards residents in Chester Rd and lower Penymynydd Rd who have vehicles but nowhere to park on their properties. The yellow lines coincided with Penyffordd Legion and Penyffordd Institute closing down free use of their car parks.

Update
A cllr who helps run the FB Penyffordd site said he would update yesterday.
This has not been forth coming.

Council procedure is  for meeting minutes to be ratified the following month. As council take August off it will be September..................

Further Update. Bottom line nothing will happen. Our cul-de-sac councillors waved all the yellow lines through. Penyffordd Institute acting like shts.

Youth Centre Community Take Over.

There is another meeting over the efforts for a community take over of the youth club on Wednesday 3rd July at 7-00. Anybody who has an interest in helping preserve this important village building should try to come along.

The aim now is to try to form a management committee to run the Centre, but anybody who has any ideas for activities to run from there will be very welcome.

Hopefully this latest meeting will help move the venture forward, and if you want any more information, please feel free to call David Williams on 01978762486 or email on dwillderw@yahoo.co.uk.

Thank you for your interest.

David Williams.

Yellow Line Meeting 10th July 6.30 pm Penyffordd Institute

My 2 penny worth

1. Traffic speeds in Chester Rd have increased since yellow lines have been put down. Not just my opinion. This is at school time. Ah! you say the school is moving. Still child cyclists will be using the main roads.

2. British Legion and Penyffordd Institute actions in closing down parking is very poor. We have residents here with no place to park off road. The suggestion that local residents pay a fee to the Institute deserves derision.

Penyffordd Coop

http://www.deeside.com/plans-for-large-new-co-op-store-in-penyffordd-approved-despite-road-safety-worries/

Plans for a large new Co-op store in Penyffordd have been given the green light despite reservations about the impact on road safety.

More anti Penyffordd community action

A sign in the Penyffordd British Legion carpark. No unauthorised parking.

So we have 2 local institutions, the British legion and the Penyffordd Institute turning their backs on local residents who are having difficulties with the new parking restrictions.

Social cohesion = Zero.

Yellow Line News

A gold star for Chester Rd as opposed to the Spar.

Just happens that there are various properties with cars and no parking facility. FCC have deployed an officer to book parking offenders. He hides behind hedges.

Cllr Alan Wight has requested a meeting with FCC CEO Colin Everett to discuss yellow lines.
