Penymynydd Rd at the Chester Rd end will be closed between 4 pm and 9 pm.

Footpaths Flintshire

Whilst we're still called Flintshire perhaps I should bring up the following article.

Where I walk there are a few paths that appear on Ordinance Survey but not on the FCC Definitive Footpath Map. What do you do if you are the only one who walks them? If you are the only one who knows about them. Some farmers just block them off.

Flash Flood

Just had a gigantic shower. Never seen anything like it ever.
Lots of water coming down Penymynydd Rd. Roof systems couldn't deal with levels of downpour.

Of course it comes straight down the hill and straight across the road into gardens and houses that are below the level of the road.

In my opinion no provision can be made to prevent this happening here.
The amount of water was astounding.
Lots of people out with cameras.....

Also hit Llangollen, A5, Brymbo, Caergwrle.
Delays are being experienced on roads.
NWP are on the case.

I've been approached by someone who believes the above may be happening.

If it is going to happen Penymynydd Rd residents who will be affected should be given good notice.

Torches and candles to the ready

Electric has gone off about three times tonight over a period of a minute or two. Not sure how many houses involved. As the Prime Minister says " Just put your jumper on !"
Hanson Cement red chimney light didn't go out.
Mind you I suppose they have stand by generators.

Local Pub Wars ?

Going past the Millstone the last week or so I have seen the board outside advertising Greek nights, Italian nights and Spanish nights.

50 yds away on council land now sits a board from The Red Lion advertising a charity night.
The Red Lion is quarter a mile away.
I think cheeky monkeys.

Does this now mean that the post where the road splits between Hawarden Rd and Chester Rd can be used by The Millstone and Penyffordd British Legion to advertise events?

Privacy matters - The EU steps up to the plate

Privacy should be a natural state for individuals, organisations and companies. Having the spooks wade through your laundry when and if they want needs to be stopped.
