Car accident Dobshill

The Chronicle reports a 3 car accident at Dobshill A550. No casualties just plenty of messing around with insurance companies. 20/03/07. The rate that traffic in groups travel at I'm surprised there are so few accidents. Coming up! Soapbox lectures on tailgaiting and bullies in cars.

An apology to PC Millington

Since I am not aware of how procedure works in this case, it may appear I am trying to go over the top of Ian, this is not the case. I have furnished him with optimum times for the rat run. They are a little anti social. I have been past Cheshire Traffic Police with radar at 7.50 am in Mickle Trafford.......................................

Have sent the following letter to the PCC

Penyffordd Community Council,

Mr G N I Jones, (Clerk to the Council )

Re: Penyffordd Rat Run …..Date 01/03/07

Dear Mr Jones,

Thank you for the recent letter.

I note with interest that the speeding rat run through Chester Road continues unabated.

The solution to the issue is as follows.

  1. 3 points on a license for speeding through Penyffordd after motorists have been pre-warned that Penyffordd has proactive anti speeding policy in force.
  2. Making it an unattractive proposition as a short cut.
  3. Making it impossible as a short cut using a partial one way system or other methods.

There are various ways to reaching the above without spending pots of money.

We have an expert department at Shire Hall to suggest options or I can tell you what they are.

I feel the council is there to keep this village as a village. Not the preferred main road for passing traffic.

My email address is tresmegistes@gmail.com

Can you supply me with councilor’s email addresses.

I note you have a redundant email on the FCC site.

If the council does not wish to deal with this issue I will take it to a much wider audience.

Kindest regards

Tres

ps. I am in possession of a letter from Mark Tami MP on this issue.

My MP Mark Tami

I am very impressed with my MP Mark Tami. I have received a second letter from him today with
regards to speeding on Chester Road, Penyffordd.

A Valid Point by Cindy Hinds

At the Police Neighbourhood Forum on Tuesday, 16th January, 2007 in the Institute speeding was brought up along with heavy traffic that uses the village as a short cut instead of the by-pass. Community Beat Manager, Ian Millington did say that if anyone could take the names of the companies on the lorries or registration numbers of the heavy goods vehicles or speeding traffic he could look into it further. This is another angle of trying to stop it, but it is not a permanent solution.

(The last line being most important Community Council ! ) my comment, not Cindy's

Speeding in Penyffordd

As someone who travels by car through various regions of the UK I find our Community Council's view of speeding a little cavalier. Travel through Broughton regularly at plus 30 mph and you are sure to pick up a minimum of 3 points. Every working day 100's of cars travel through Chester Rd, Penyffordd at plus 30mph with impunity. My beef is the noise (for me) and dangers to the community. The stretch of road between Penymynydd Rd and the Garage has various activities, pensioners travelling at 0.5 mph across the road to get pensions, school children some unaccompanied, horses, bus stops near junctions, a give way road that should be a stop road, idiots driving through the village at speed.
The recipe does not look promising.
The committee's answer to my issue is to get the village bobby to look into the matter.
This matter although partly in his domain is a matter also for the Community Council and County Council.
Two weeks on traffic still zooms............................................
